Course Outline
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course focuses on introduction to managerial finance: nature and scope; fields of finance, objective of the firm; functions of a financial manager. Other topics covered include financial statement analysis, financial environment, risk-return trade-off, time value of money, capital budgeting techniques, valuation concepts and cost of capital. We will also examine capital structure decisions.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
1. The main objective of this course is to acquaint students with financial concepts and tools needed in managing the financial resources of a firm.
2. More specific objective includes, improving the analyzing and communicating skill of the students required for informed financial decision making.

The following scheme will be followed in assigning final grade for the course.

INCOMPLETE (‘I’) GRADE:
‘I’ grades will only be allowed for students who have a valid reason (ascertained by the senior management). ‘I’ grades must be cleared within one month of grade submission.
