I declare that I have completed my internship report titled “Industrial Training on HR and Compliance” under my course supervisor Asma Alam, Assistant Professor, Daffodil International University. I am happy to confirm that Tamanna Akther Toma, ID a student of Department of English at Daffodil International University, completed her Project work with Internship (Course Code: ENG-341) at Debonair Group and this project report has been approved for presentation and viva voce. Next, I would like to express my gratitude to Sorowar Alam, AGM, HR & Compliance Department, Debonair Group, Unit-2, for his kind and friendly help with the initial work.

This document serves as a record of the intern's three-month on-the-job training at the Debonair Group located in Gazipur, where she gained a general understanding of the Bangladeshi RMG (Readymade Garments) sector. On the first day, Sorowar Alam, Assistant General Manager of the plant, met with the intern to discuss their work policies and give a brief overview of the HR and Compliance department, as the intern will be joining them as the Compliance Manager. In addition, I want to know more about the RGM sector as well as the production system of the industry and how this sector plays such an important role in the development of the country.

Due to my personal enthusiasm, I consequently made the decision to work in the HR and Compliance department of a garment factory. Like Doctors, Nurses, IT Officers, HR and Compliance Officers, Accounts Officers, Operations Engineers etc. I worked in the HR and Compliance department, where everyone was highly trained, so we mostly communicated in English, and our AGM Sir also encouraged me to communicate in English as much as possible.

Most of the official work in the office is carried out in English, so my academic studies in English open up a lot of space for me to understand all the procedures quite easily.

In turn, the compliance department is responsible for ensuring that all corporate processes and procedures comply with the law. Debonair Group, unit-2, has excellent, skilled, experienced and well-trained HR and Compliance teams headed by Mr. The team consists of one senior manager, four human resource managers, one human resource administrator, four compliance officers and three welfare officers who work tirelessly for the smooth running of the plant as well as the welfare of the workers.

As the Compliance Executive, I was responsible for ensuring that the workers received all the benefits of the plant, and when I visited the floors, I asked the workers a few questions to determine whether they were given all the facilities of the company or if there was any discrimination between them. Based on my survey, I found that 70% of workers are satisfied with their management system. I participated in the recruitment and selection process to learn more about the steps and procedures required to select a qualified candidate for a specific position.

On the advice of the Senior Manager, I held an introductory meeting with all HR and Compliance officers to outline my three months of on-the-job learning. During my internship, I also improved and acquired some skills; however, I will discuss only a few of the most important ones here. Teamwork: Working as an intern in a garment factory taught me the value of teamwork in the workplace.

Everyone in the Debonair factory works as a team and carries out the specific tasks as assigned by the team leader. As a result, they were confused when I first tried to explain the do's and don'ts of personal safety to them. I observed this problem and used what I had learned in one of our courses, 'Introduction to Psychology', where our course teacher taught us that to raise awareness about anything, you need to connect with the mindset of the opponent, as well as with the mentality of the other party. emotions of the intended audience.

This is exactly what I did; I first tried to establish a friendly relationship with the workers so that they could understand the meaning of the instruction I was giving. I noticed the problem and offered to assist him, because I had learned all these skills since I was admitted to university, where we had to complete a lot of homework and presentations with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Throughout my internship I learned a lot about my strengths, weaknesses and abilities.

Working in the HR and Compliance departments of a clothing factory gave me knowledge of the business sector and how it works. In addition, I learned to work under pressure and adapted to working long hours. In the end, I understood that an internship is a great opportunity to try something new, learn from it, understand it and use it in the future.

I was actually used to being in the HR and Compliance department during my office hours, but I wasn't given a separate computer, so my work was a bit interrupted because I had to use someone else's computer and wait for that person to finish with his work. work. And after he finished his work, I sat in his place to use the computer. I could do my work more comfortably if they provided me with a separate computer.

I have observed that the performance of their work is affected by their slow internet service.
