I have prepared my internship report on the subject "Recruitment and Selection Process of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation" under your kind supervision as a requirement for completing the degree of BBA program. The title of this internship report is “Recruitment and Selection Process of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation” and it was assigned by my internship supervisor and approved by the university authority. Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation is a service institution whose primary objective is to serve people of Bangladesh by providing transportation services.

The main objectives of the report are to find out the “Recruitment and Selection Process of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation”.

In 2003, a request was made by the government of Bangladesh for the continuation of the Swedish support by financing another 95 double-decker buses. There is no doubt that the introduction of the first Swedish double-decker buses was successful. The performance of the buses is remarkably high and above expectations in terms of the number of buses on the road (more than 90 percent) and km produced (more than 64,000 km per bus and year).

One of the issues that needs serious consideration is the role of the BRTC, the state-owned operator.

Selection refers to the process by which it seeks to identify applicants with the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics that will help the company achieve its goals, companies engaged in different strategies need different types and numbers of employees. The strategy a company follows will have a direct impact on the type of employees it wants to recruit and select.

Other senior positions are filled by the internal sources except in a technical or specialized area. Sometimes BRTC transfers its employee to another post to fill the vacant post. It is one of their internal recruitment processes. The purpose of an employee transfer is to enable him to familiarize himself with the broad view of the organization, which is decisive for promotions in the future.

Promotions are the most common form of internal recruitment in which the employees are moved to the upper levels of the organization with more responsibility and prestige. All the higher positions are recruited by the government, but the lower class employees are selected by the Depot Manager. Managing Director and CEO will determine and analyze the necessity of manpower based on recruitment required by the departments and projected budget based on the year after discussion with different department heads.

Therefore, it is the responsibility of the management to examine the workload and perform the job analysis and as well as look at the actual need of employees under various categories, to see if an additional hand is really needed. The board of directors has the authority to make final decisions on any matter regarding any type of recruitment. Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation should recognize the importance of manpower estimation and accordingly an Organogram should be prepared for the Industry and for each Division and Branch.

Subject to review from time to time, the competent authority will make the appointments as per power delegated by the Council. We try to discuss all relative sources used for recruitment in Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation.

However, the Organogram should not be rigid, it can be reviewed and revised from time to time when necessary. Human resource departments become involved when internal job opportunities are publicized to employees through job placement programs, informing employees of openings and required qualifications and inviting qualified employees to apply. The notices are usually posted on company bulletin boards or placed in the company newspaper.

The purpose of job posting is to encourage employees to seek promotion and convey the help that the HR department can provide to fill internal openings and achieve employee personal goals. Not all posts are posted. In addition to entry-level positions, senior management and top positions may be filled by merit or by external recruitment. Many employees leave because they can no longer work the traditional 40 hour work week. School, childcare needs and other commitments are the common reason.

Some would happily stay if they could rearrange their working hours or their responsibilities. Instead, they quit when a transition to a part-time job can preserve their valuable skills and education. Although part-time work is not a solution, a temporary absence can satisfy the employee and a future recruitment need of the employer.

There is a box in front of the HR department where interested persons can leave their unsolicited CV. After short-listing the CV and choosing the suitable candidates, the HR department informs the candidate by telephone about a written test (entry level) or interview (mid-level). Depending on the situation, relaxation of the qualifying mark up to 50% may be made on special occasions, with prior approval of the board.

The management of the company may, if necessary, verify the authenticity of any certificate or all certificates/testimonials submitted by an employee of an educational board/university/institution. In case of submission of forget certificate/testimonial by any employee, the management of the company will take administrative action including termination/dismissal/expulsion against the concerned employee taking into account the nature of each case.

Like other companies, NEW ASIA FASHION also conducts a physical examination of selected employees, regardless of whether the candidate is fit for work or not.

Some employees say that additional workload on a regular basis is a common criteria of the organization. Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation does not maintain a database of CVs of all applicants, which would be easier if online application is encouraged. Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation may also maintain a separate database of shortlisted candidates.

From this database it will be clear after some time which university graduates are most suitable for Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation jobs. But such tests do not assess the applicant's ability to perform his/her job properly, i.e. whether he/she understands the duties and responsibilities of the position for which he/she is applying. This is important to verify the information and ensure that the organization is aware of any serious problems in the candidate's past.

There has been a violation of the recruitment and selection policy in terms of violations of criteria and procedures. For example, it is against the policy to recruit interns from universities not listed in the policy. But graduates of such universities, which are not listed in the rules, are employed as trainees.

This practice can have a very negative effect on the image of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation in the long run. Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation has not introduced assessment centers as one of its selection tools.

More officers should be appointed in the money department and a suitable instrument should be provided to identify the counterfeit notes which are almost impossible to identify with the currently available device, although it is a matter of joy that such a device will soon be in the will arrive in the near future. the senior official said. A final shortlist should be prepared by the functional units/departments and forwarded to the HR department; attaching shortlisted and rejected CVs. Based on the shortlist received by the HR department, letters should be sent to the shortlisted candidates specifying a date and time for the interviews.

BANGLADESH ROAD TRANSPORT CORPORATION should find out whether their written exams are valid ie. whether the tests measure what they claim to measure. Candidates participate in a range of activities similar to those they might be expected to encounter in the actual job. Reference checks should only be carried out for candidates who have been approved by the recruitment panel for the job.

The authority should ensure that the violations found in the organization are stopped. Although Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation is a newly developed company in the respective sector, its growth and expansion is commendable. Human Resource Department is the most confidential department of any organization as well as Human Resources Division of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation.

It was an honor to work as an intern in a reputed organization like Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation. Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation is a textile that confirms the best service to the customers as well as to the employees from the Human Resources Division.
