BACKGROUND:
Centre for Peace and Justice (CPJ) is a multi-disciplinary academic institute, which intends to promote global peace and social justice through quality education, research, training and advocacy. CPJ is committed to identifying and promoting sustainable and inclusive solutions to a wide range of global concerns and issues, including fragility, conflict and violence. The institute has multiple interventions in Cox’s Bazar under its Refugee Studies Unit (RSU). We are looking for two experienced and self-motivated Project Officer for a newly launched supported by UNICEF according to the below Terms of Reference.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Project Officer will be responsible for the implementation of project activities at the field with the support of project team and community volunteers. The position will organize events, supervise the volunteers and ensure the quality implementation of project activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Recruit, orient, supervise and train the community volunteers with guidance of Project Coordinator;
• Monitor and mentor the community volunteers;
• Support to develop partnership with community institutions;
• Support volunteers for their day to day planning and implementation of activities
• Draft monthly and weekly activity plan and update the progress;
• Ensure day to day implementation of the project activities;
• Organise training, workshops, seminars and research activates with the support of project team and volunteers;
• Ensure logistics, finance and administrative support for smooth implementation of the project activities;
• Ensure reporting and documentation of project activities and maintain the volunteer’s database;
• Collecting reports, photos and case story from the field work and assist monitoring officer and field coordinator;
• Ensure PSEA awareness in the community and related grievance mechanism as per the office policies;
• Assist project coordinator in developing periodic reports and deliverables;
• Participate at the camp level meetings and coordination;
• Ensure logistical support to the volunteers;
• Develop cohesive networks and working collaborations with different stakeholders, agencies and authorities;
and any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the line supervisor.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
▪ Completed Bachelor Degree (Post-Graduation) from a reputed academic institution preferably in any subject of social science faculty.
▪ At least 3 years of experience in a similar position;
▪ Excellent Command over written and oral English as well as excellent IT skills.
