This project assessment “A review of the use of Unani medicines in Bangladesh” submitted to the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Daffodil International University has been accepted as satisfactory for partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Pharmacy and approved in style and content. The increase in chronic diseases is increasing day by day and the use of Unani medicines is increasing day by day due to lack of side effects instead of synthetic medicines. In children, diseases such as (enteritis, dysponea, convulsions) and chronic diseases such as diabetes can be easily treated with unani medicines.

There is an obstacle like standardization of unprocessed medication, dosage related problems, etc. which should be minimized to increase the faith in unani medicine. Daffodil International University 3 RabbanTabri (770-) in "Firdaus-ul-Hikmat850 A.D.) provided some instructions on the appropriate development and growth of the children. Daffodil International University 4 In his work "Al Qanoon Fit Tib," IbneSina ( 980–1037 A.D.) a specific section with four chapters devoted to the discussion of the growth and ailments of children.

Obstacles of Unani medicine Support for Empirical Claims

He discussed breastfeeding and the qualities of a competent nurse in the second chapter. In When the Young One is Hungry in the Afternoon, all morning routines must be repeated. Nabeez and other hypnotic drugs should not be given to young people as they produce congestion in the head or brain, raise body temperature and make thoughts cloudy. They have not been changed since their prehistoric times, making it difficult for the Unani system to be accepted and liked by all.

Unani medicine is used not only in elderly people but also in newborns and children below five years of age.

Ethical Considerations

Managing health and disease is the focus of the Unani System of Medicine. The basis of this system is based on profound philosophical understandings and scientific principles, such as the Hippocratic theory of four humours (Akhl) - blood (Dam), phlegm (Balgham), yellow bile (afr) and black bile (Sawd), as well as Empedoclean- the theory of four elements (air, water, fire and earth), four adjacent qualities (Kayfiyt), as Temperament (Mizj) is the term used to describe the combination of several elements and their qualities in a precise ratio in a organism, whether living or not. Since the things in the non-human universe, consisting directly of elements, are characterized in terms of qualitative temperament, the human temperament is typically denoted by the dominant humor, i.e.

Any disruption in mood balance produces illness, so the goal of treatment is to restore it by administering substances (including medications) of the opposite temperament. Furthermore, the Unani System of Medicine states that the Medicatrixnaturae (ab'atMudabbira'-iBadan) is the supreme force that regulates all bodily physiological systems, provides resistance to disease, and aids in natural healing. Rather than approaching disease reductively, the Unani System of Medicine is holistic in nature and considers the whole individual.

The doctor decides which medication to administer based on the patient's personality, the disease's severity, the organs affected and their abilities. All disorders affecting the body's systems and organs are treated by the unani system of medicine. The therapies for chronic diseases and diseases of the skin, liver, musculoskeletal and reproductive systems, immunological and lifestyle problems have been found to be very successful and well tolerated.

The Unani system of medicine is distinguished by the use of stimulants, aphrodisiacs, aphrodisiacs, organ-specific tonics and immunomodulating medicines, temperament-specific medicines, correctives for unpleasant effects, coctives and purgatives, etc. Cosmoceuticals, Nutraceutics, Aromatics, and related treatment play a significant role in Unani System of Medicine therapy [26].

Unani System Medicine Strength

A Distinct Idea of Temperament (Mizj) According to the Unani system of medicine, each person has a distinctive temperament based on their humoral constitution, way of life and environment. Holistic approach: When treating a condition, the Unani system of medicine considers the full constitution of the patient as well as lifestyle factors when making a diagnosis and recommending a course of action. Safe and radical cure of chronic diseases: The Unani system of medicine's main focus is the care of chronic diseases in a safe and radical way.

Preventing Disease and Promoting Health: In addition to treating disease symptoms, the Unani system of medicine places a strong focus on preventing disease and improving current health by adhering to the six fundamental principles of life. Regimental Therapy: The Unani system of medicine uses certain diet, exercise and lifestyle regimens as well as venesection (Fad), blood sugar (Ta'lq) and other procedures to remove the diseased humors from the body (Tanqiya). Immunomodulation: According to the Unani system of medicine, the body's innate ability to repair itself and maintain its healthy state is the true doctor (ab'at).

Accordingly, there are several medicines available such as KhamraMarwrd, Daw' al-Kurkum, abb-iJawhar, etc., which increase the body's immunity. Tonics (Muqawwiyt): A distinctive aspect of the Unani System of Medicine is the idea of using tonics that are tailored to particular organs and systems. Chronic gastrointestinal disorders are also treated with tonics that improve digestion (Muqawwiyt-iMi'da o Am"), such as Jawrishmla and Jawrishmasag.

These medicines also provide a general sense of well-being, which is a distinguishing feature of the Unani System of Medicine. Specialties: The Unani System of Medicine successfully treats a wide range of diseases, especially the chronic ones.

Basic principle of Unani sysytem

Daffodil International University 14 can be found in literature including heart tonics (Muqawwiyt-iQalb), nerve tonics (Muqawwiyt-iDimgh o A'b), liver tonics (Muqawwiyt-iJigar), liver tonics (Muqawwiyt-iJigar ), kidney tonics (Muqaw c. This class of drugs is used to treat neuropsychiatric and cardiac conditions such as anxiety, depression, palpitations, etc. Physiological forces responsible for relevant essential body processes such as life, digestion, senses, movement and reproduction g) Functions: Functions of various organs [26].

Simple, undivided substances that provide the essential building blocks for the human body and other organisms are considered basic ingredients of unani medicine. The chemical compositions of the various substances (compounds) in nature is what allows them to exist (Imtizj). Four basic elements make up everything in the universe, though in different amounts and proportions.

They are created by the mixing and organic transformation of components, giving them the ability to support biological activities such as life, nutrition and development, sensation and movement, and reproduction. Daffodil International University 23 Not only the absence of disease, but also complete physical, mental and social well-being, is what is meant by the term "health" (WHO). Health is thought to occur when all the body's physiological processes are normal [14].

The Unani system of medicine has a ton of literature medicines for child promotion and preventive health. The legendary Unani system thinkers, such as Ibn Hubel Baghdadi and Ibn Sina (Avicenna), As reported by RabbanTabri and others, perspectives on child health in depth as well as proposed procedures and medications for the improvement of babies.

Light foods such as broth and easily digested meat should be provided when breastfeeding is discontinued. Weaning should be gradual and slow.

Increased blood flow to the brain through centurine makes it easier for brain tissue to receive nutrients and oxygen. Daffodil International University 36 The above diagram describes that the administration of unani medicines was mainly on the advice of relatives and this was 73%. Percentage of recommendation Tangail, Bangladesh

Percentage of reason

The use of unani medicine is increasing day by day due to less side and unwanted effects and high safety value, cost effective and easily available. Bangladesh has most of the top ranked pharmaceutical industry producing a large number of unani products. Unani medicines are very useful in chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease which can be used to control this chronic disease.

Current study showing that the use of unani medicine increased 92.70% where previously it was 7.50. But still patient and healthcare professionals cannot have 100% faith in Unani medicine because of its some hindrance. By removing these obstacles, the use of unani medicine can be increased and further research can be increased.
