It gives me great pleasure to present the internship report on “General Banking Activities of Export Import Bank of Bangladesh Ltd” assigned to me as part of my BA program. To describe it simply, Shornali Akter Lushe, with ID number, completed the internship at EXIM Bank Ltd. Savar Bazar Branch and using the knowledge gained, has created this report on “General Banking Activities of Export Import Bank of Bangladesh Ltd. .” She created this report with my approval.
Liza Sharmin, head of the English department for allowing me to do this internship in my favorite country. It is really a wonderful experience to work under EXIM Bank Ltd., one of the best Islamic Shariah compliant banks of Bangladesh. As my report is focused on the general banking activity, I have analyzed the general banking activities and my duties and observation with this.
In this I explain the meaning of a bank, different types of banks, different types of loans and also about general banking and EXIM Bank. Then in the second chapter I talked about the background and significance of the project. In chapter four, I talked about organizational details like historical background of EXIM Bank Ltd., Mission and Vision of EXIM Bank Ltd., their current activities, etc.
I have also talked about the limitation of the study, observation and findings and also given some recommendations in this report.
Objective of the Study
I had interest to build my career in banking sector so I chose EXIM Bank Ltd. Then the director of EXIM Bank Ltd issued me an accession letter based on my application and resume. Exim Bank Limited offers Super Saving Scheme to increase awareness and motivate people to save money.
If someone wants to open an account, they must first fill out an account opening form issued by a bank employee. An account can be opened with the permission of authorized persons and the manager. But obviously there must be an account in the name of the user in a certain bank where the person will break this payment order.
Name of the bank to which it will be sent, branch name, account number, routing number of that bank. After checking that I brought an account opening form and told them to sign on a specific area and knew their current address and most of the time I filled out the opening form. At one point I also filled in the requisition form and collected two signatures from the account holder.
When the account holder came to the bank for the check book, I collected the signature of the account holder in a book. This report will give an idea about EXIM Bank and its activities but not all about it. By the time of internship at EXIM Bank Limited at Savar Bazar branch, after collecting and analyzing data, I got the following findings and recommendations which are completely my personal point of view.
EXIM Bank Limited promises its customers that they can honor the check within a very short period of time after submission, but most of the times they are unable to do so. There is a shortage of ATMs across the country for EXIM Bank Ltd • Employees in the general banking department are not regularly and properly trained. As there is something lacking in the general procedure of EXIM Bank Limited, the following recommendations are forwarded in this regard.
EXIM Bank Ltd should be active to honor its customers' checks within a short period of time after submission.

Any mature person or organization can open this type of account and there is a requirement that he must deposit a minimum of 10,000/- and above but in multiples of taka 100/-. One or more accounts can be opened at the same branch under the same name. The Mudaraba Term Deposit Receipt (MTDR) account is a fixed term deposit system that does not require payment before the maturity date.
Generally customers/individuals and institutions are allowed to open this account for a certain period and the earning rate depends on the deposit.

With this type of account, 2 or more people can open an account together and each person must meet the individual account requirement. If an account is inactive for six months, it is considered or classified as. After the customer came to transfer the account, I first found the account opening form and the SS card in the warehouse, then photocopied them and put them away.
I also observed the procedures for closing an account and other activities of general banking. But sometimes the customer may fail to manage the reference to open an account which is a big problem for the bank. If this rule is changed, it will be beneficial for the customers to open an account.
Export Import Bank of Bangladesh is one of the best banks in Bangladesh working for customer satisfaction.

I gave the requisition form to the account holder when they came to collect the check book. I collected the payment order application form from the authorized officer and provided it to the customer. I also did other banking related tasks like typing, bank document photocopy, sending mail to the customer and calling to customers if necessary.
I can control my emotion and can work long hours because I have self-management skills. All the officers are very cooperative, but they were too busy to give me proper time.

They had a busy schedule that they were not able to teach me about more things. The development of a country's economy, a good bank through their modern products and services plays a very important role. But they do not charge any service charges for this and try to provide this service within a short time.
As an Islamic Sharia based bank, it has gone ahead with the acceptance and better performance and is most likely to create a better nation. Furthermore, every Islamic Bank tries to educate a mass of people more about the importance of religious beliefs with Islamic banking.
