ABSTRACT

A proper management system can ensure satisfactory profit, reduce the problem and enlighten the future prospects of broiler farm. To describe the existing management system, identify the problems and future prospects of broiler farming 30 randomly selected farms were chosen and data were collected from broiler farms through face to face interviewing at kaligang upazilla under Lalmonirhat district from 25th July ‘17 to 05th August ‘17. The study revealed that most of the farmers collect broiler chicks from nourish poultry & hatchery (56%), Rearing time that chicks 32 days (53%), Most of the farmer used saw dust as a litter material As litter material most of the farmer use saw dust (76%), Change that litter two times (66%), Most of the farm had only one shed (87%) and Drainage facility of that farms is insufficient (70%) but Ventilation system is good (80%). Again most of the farmer used ready feed for the chicks. Most of the farmers unconcerned about proper biosecurity (60%) in their farms and most of them had no foot bath (67%) system. In farms, farmer give vaccine 4 times but the threated things is that they manage the disease condition of farm through Dealer (54%). The estimated net benefit per farm having average flock size 1000 during the visiting period was found Tk.22,400.00 monthly. But they felt always threaten to rear broiler due to they faced various problems. So the possibility was found high but facility was found very low. If the problems can be removed, people would be more encouraged to establish broiler farms on a large scale in all seasons.
