Executive Summery

An Internship Report on Working Experience as an Intern assistance Upazila representative at MyTV as required by the Supervisor Mr. Md. Rashedul Islam, Lecturer, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Daffodil International University.

The objective of the report is to describe my experiences during my internship at MyTv. This report is divided into five chapters.The chapter one of the report deals with introduction that presents the background of MyTV and internship along with the meaning and duration of internship. My activities during internship are presented in chapter two. The chapter three deals with the knowledge and learning that I gathered and tools that I have used during my internship.

A qualitative difference between academic learning and practical work, my skill development and experiences along with future career possibilities are presented in chapter four. I have done a SWOT Analysis on the organization and gave few recommendations in chapter five. I have developed few skills which includes making documentary. Which enables career possibilities for me in a Reporter of TV channel. I would like to recommend the authority to increase the internship period.

1.1 About What is internship.

An internship is a temporary job for earning skill and getting experience from the industries. A temporary job is an open door offered by a business to expected representatives, called assistants, to work at a firm for a fixed timeframe. In our country mostly internship job are none paid. Understudies are generally students or understudies, and most temporary jobs last between a month and three months. Temporary jobs are typically low maintenance whenever offered during a college semester and full-time whenever offered during the excursion time frames. A temporary job should give you pragmatic aptitudes, work environment experience and more noteworthy information on that industry, in return for the business profiting by your work.

A temporary position can be either paid or willful. The pattern is progressively (and appropriately) towards the previous, as deliberate temporary positions are regularly referred to as shifty. As you would expect, temporary positions that pay well are generally the most serious.

1.2 About My TV.

MyTv is the one of the well known satellite TV channel in Bangladesh. MyTV always try to broadcast accurate news and as soon as possible publishing the recent issues. Not only Bangladeshi news MyTV broadcast also the International news. They always try to highlight every kind of news. In this TV channel there are many program like,News,culture program, religious program, Entertainment program, Short flim,movies.Talkshow. The owner of MyTV name is Nasir Uddin Sathi.MyTv start there journey at the year of 2010,after 10 years of this tv they are on of the known TV channel in Bangladesh.

1.3 Background of My Internship.

Mainly my internship background is assistive Subdistrict Representative of MyTV,under My professional supervisor “Abdur Rashid Tushar” who is Dhamrai Upazila representative of MyTV.

My work is collecting information, news source,take video footage, still picture, Take interview to make a package news.which all work are mainly Town-council. Most of the news are package news. When making a package news it takes Minimum 3-4.days. All the package news not came from tawn.Council but also came rural area but there number is low. When I started my work I have to collect Every Union Council news informer,Thana contact number,Highway Thana contact number.when some issues make then they confirm us via mail and phone number.When I got the secure source then I noticed it to my professional supervisor.Then he learn me how to make news and many more, and he assign me a work about the issues to do it.

1.4 About my Professional Supervisor.

When I started my internship at MyTV, Abdur Rashid Tushar is my professional supervisor. He is a Dhamrai Upazila representative of MyTV.He have more then 10 years of experience in journalists work. At MyTV he have 4 years working

experience. He is also news editor of Dhamrai news24 newspaper, And he is founding Chairman of Dhamrai press club. He have many experience to learning others about journalism.

1.5 Duration of my internship.

I stared my internship at MyTV 1^st October, as a Dhamrai assistive Upazila representative. My internship ends in 14^th of December, total 70 days of working on MyTV.

• Finding victims who Doesn’t got succor from government.(There are many poor person Didn’t get succor from government, in this issues we show the corruption and where are the succor goes. Firstly I’m find more then 30 people in many area. Then we take there interview and show there poverty.

• Basic plan of package news.

Forth week 26^th Oct – 1^st November

• Finding victims to get information (pollibiddut office corruption issues)

• Video trimming.(important part given to the news)

• Taking Hidden video footage(Became the victims and get hidden video footage about succour giving corruption)

Fifth week, 2^nd November – 8^th Nov

• Shooting fish catching footage.(In this time many where arrange competition of catching fish,this year its happing every Union in Dhamrai Upazila.

• Taking interview in field with professional video camera.

• Taking video footage of Mobile code (corona awareness issues)

• Shoot a highways illegal car parking scene.

• Captured still picture removing illegal cars.(after illegal parking news High way police remove all the illegal parking cars)

• Writing a script for package news.(My supervisor assign me to write a script about the package news which are Air pollutions)

• Practicing voice over for giving voice to the news.

• shoot video to may supervisor to taking interview.

• Taking interview to highway road accident people.

Eighth week 23th Nov – 29^th Nov

• Note the important speech’s for giving voice over.( In a session 300 farmer get fertilizer, in this program I’m note the important speech from chief guest)

• Trying Edit the news video.

• Taking interview.(general public who r not wearing mask)

• Take video footage Of Dhamrai Thana.(There is a rape issues, in this news need Thana video footage)

• Take video footage of Dhamrai Upazila.(for election nomination purpose)

• Editing video footage.

Ten Week 7^th December – 14^th Dec.

• Taking Video footage Of discussion of Liberation war Program.

• Taking video footage of Dhamrai Powrosova area, for election news.

• Taking interview (suffering people who are effected by industries pollution).

There are some special experience in this learning journey. I meet some special person who are such a great human. I meet and take interview Our Dhamrai Upazila MP Benozir Ahmed,its really pleasurable and first time I feel like professional journalist.

4.1 Practical work And Academic Learning

Academic learning helps me a lot to my practical work. When I do some work then academic learning always helps me to complete the work like nearly professional. In practical work everywhere academic learning is common. I can’t say there is no common in academic learning on practical work, every single where academic learning exist.

4.2 Expectations and Experience

If I said about expectation then I have to firstly say my expectations like journalists can make all the news of the society, mainly corruption. But in practical they don’t, I see there is threat for journalist and there media house. Mainly corruption did the political party, that’s why some news can’t published media house for there safety. On the other hand I got many working experience about media and making news. I meet many journalist and always try to learn from them something new.

After academic learning when I started practical work then I realize there are many skill have to develop with practical work.

• frame of video footage,

• script writing.

• Interview tactics

• Better source finding

• Developing news sense

4.4 Future career Opportunities.

In Journalism there are many sector to make better career. In my internship what I done it makes me perform better in professional work. I think I can do better in broadcast media.Coz I got well experience about broadcast media like TV news.

Now I can make package news.taking interview, writing script.I will try to be a

broadcast reporter.

5.1 SWOT analysis

Strength

• The main strength is well known broadcast news TV channel.

• They have good image to the audience.

• Some popular entertainment, Cultural show.

• Satellite TV

• Online access TV channel

Weakness:

• Low number of special report

• Backdated media tools, like stuff video camera.

Opportunities

• There is opportunity to make career with MyTV. If I will work hard and always follow there recommendation then there is a better career opportunity.

Threats

There was no threat in MyTV.They always said work carefully if you leave long you can do many work,always try to stay with normal weather.

5.2 Recommendation:

It’s really hard to give recommendation. This is the starting of professional working in life. Only Ten weeks is not so long time for me. But this is something what I really want to say.if we can practice with professional video camera on field then it will be easy to control for work. I will recommend to my Academy to give us this chance in semester Courses.

• Give little bit upgrade media tools to worker.

• Create pressure for special report.

• MyTv need some famous reporter.

• Supply as soon as possible hot news.

• I think they have to close some interestless program.

5.3 conclusion

After 70 days of work with MyTv really helps me to next step for start career,and professional work.My supervisor always try to learn me. That’s why now I can realize which improvement actually did. When I start my professional work then it really helpful for me.This journey success fully done by me. And the most important thing what I learn that is time management and work with responsibility that is more significant learning for me. After all that was a important learning session for me. This work make me confidence and helps me to step foreword.
