Ayatollah Khomeini born on September 24, 1902, his given name means "inspired of God”. Khomeini was raised by his mother and an aunt, both of whom died of cholera in 1918. He was the religious leader of Iran from 1979 to 1989. He was also the leader of the Iranian Revolution, which killed 3,000 to 60,000 people. He was truly evil incarnate because he was the first bloodthirsty ruler in history to exploit religion as an effective tool to consolidate power, incite violence and undermine those who are seen as foreign enemies. Ayatollah in his 10 years of leadership established a theocratic rule over Iran. He did not fulfill his pre-revolution promises to the people of Iran but instead he started to marginalize and crash the opposition groups and those who opposed the clerical rules. He ordered establishment of many institutions to consolidate power and safeguard the cleric leadership. During his early years in power he launched the Cultural Revolution in order to Islamize the whole country. Many people were laid off, and lots of books were revised or burnt according to the new Islamic values.

Then he established the Shia Islamic Law and it had a lot of harsh rules over the normal people. Some of them were the follow: Men and women had strict dress codes; citizens lost equal rights and met with very harsh punishments, were brutalized, tortured and killed. People were imprisoned and tortured for listening to music. People were lashed 100 times for kissing in public. People were tortured and killed if they did not believe in Allah. People were shot, hanged, blinded, gassed, stabbed in the chest, stoned to death and burned alive. People had their hands cut off for stealing. People were killed by machine guns, knives, clubs, cutters, and acid.
