(Survei Terhadap Siswa SMK Negeri 1 Kota Serang)”, tesis ini dibawah

bimbingan Dr. Hj. Ratih Hurriyati, M.P dan Dr. Lili Adi Wibowo, S.Sos., S.Pd.,M.M.

Salah satu tujuan sekolah kejuruan adalah membekali siswanya agar menjadi tenaga kerja tingkat menengah yang terampil dibidangnya. Hal ini agar lulusan SMK siap bekerja, melanjutkan pendidikan sesuai dengan bidang keahlian, atau wirausaha. Namun, tujuan pendidikan yang mulia ini belum mampu meningkatkan citra sekolah menengah kejuruan sebagai sekolah yang mampu mengatasi pengangguran. Hal ini terlihat dari tingginya angka pengangguran dari lulusan SMK.

Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut, maka tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis bagaimana produk jasa pendidikan dan program marketing public relation, serta pengaruhnya terhadap citra SMK. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif survei dan explanatory survei. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMK Negeri 1 Kota Serang sebanyak 754 siswa, dengan 88 siswa sebagai sampel. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling terhadap siswa di tujuh program keahlian angkatan 2013/2014. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan analisis jalur dengan bantuan program SPSS 21 for windows.

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa produk jasa pendidikan dan marketing public relation berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap citra sekolah menengah kejuruan.

One of the objectives of vocational schools is to equip the student to become a middle-level man power skilled in their field. This is so the vocational school graduates are ready to work, continuing education accordance with the field expertise, or self employment. However, these noble educational objectives have not be enable to improve the image of vocational schools as a school that is able to cope with unemployment. This can be seen from the high unemployment of graduates of vocational.

Based on this phenomenon, the purpose of this study is to analyze how educational services product and marketing public relations program, as well as its influence, on the image of the Vocational High School. The method used is descriptive survey and explanatory survey. The population involve 754 students of SMK Negeri 1 Serang, with 88 students as sample. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling of students in seven skills program generation 2013/2014. Data analysis techniques using path analysis with SPSS 21 for windows.

Based on the results, it can be concluded that the educational services product and marketing public relations give positive and significant impact on the image of vocational high schools.
