KESIMPULAN DAN SARAN
5.1 Kesimpulan
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, analisa serta pembahasan, didapatkan kesimpulan sebagai berikut :
1. Konsentrasi optimum alginat dalam mengamobilisasi bakteri Zymomonas mobilis adalah 2%.
2. Sel amobil Zymomonas mobilis menghasilkan etanol sebesar 5,98% (v/v)
(
93,85% yield etanol dengan laju pembentukan 0.334 g.L-1.jam-1). Hasil ini lebih besar apabila dibandingkan dengan sel bebas bakteriZymomonas mobilis yang menghasilkan etanol sebesar
0,58% (v/v) (82,88% yield etanol dengan laju pembentukan 0,038 g.L-1.jam-1)
3. Setelah empat kali pengulangan fermentasi, sel amobil
Zymomonas mobilis kehilangan aktivitas sebesar 98,4%.
4. Setelah penyimpanan sel amobil Zymomonas mobilis selama 7 hari, aktivitas sel amobil menurun sebesar 94,7%.
5.2 Saran
Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, maka beberapa hal yang dapat disarankan adalah sebagai berikut;
1. Perlu dikaji lebih lanjut tentang pola adaptasi sel amobil
Zymomonas mobilis dalam matriks Ca-alginat terutama
dalam penggunaan sel amobil secara berulang, untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang memepengaruhi kadar etanol yang dihasilkan.
2. Diperlukan penelitian lebih lanjut dengan menggunakan substrat dari bahan alam yang potensial, untuk mengetahui efisiensi amobilisasi Zymomonas mobilis dalam matriks Ca-alginat.
