DESIGNING BROCHURES TO INTRODUCE AESAN GEDE

The purpose of this final report was to design brochures that could be used to introduce aesan gede as Palembang traditional wedding costume. The data of designing brochures were taken from some books literatures and websites. Meanwhile, the data of aesan gede were taken from observation the display of
aesan gede, interviewing with humanist who know detail about aesan gede at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Museum, and also reading some literatures review related to aesan gede. There were three steps indesigning the brochures (1) collecting data, (2) analyzing data, (2) using Photoshop CS3 software design application. The writer used two strategies (1) visual strategies as verbal (e.i, headline, body copy, slogan, and closing words or base line) and (2) visual strategies as non-verbal (e.i, format design, illustration, layout, logo, tipography, and color). The results were bi-fold and tri-fold format brochures as product of designing brochures to promote aesan gede as Palembang traditional wedding cotume.

The writer would like to perform the gratitude to ALLAH SWT, for the outstanding mercy given to the writer. So, the writer could finish the final report on time. The writer also would like to express the warmest gratitude to prophet Muhammad SAW, to remind every kindness or fault accured. Eventually, this report is written to fulfill one requirements of final report writing at State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya, which entitled “Designing Brochures to Promote Aesan
Gede”.
Furthermore, the writer realizes that this final report is still far from being perfect because of the limitation of sources, time or even knowledge. Therefore, comments and suggestions from all readers are very important to make this final report to be better. The writer hopes that this masterpiece can give advantages for writer, readers, government, and institution.
