First of all, the writers would like to express our gratitude to Allah Swt. for giving us blessing, mercy, and guidance in finishing this final report. This final report is entitled “Designing a Novella Script entitled “Like or Leave it”. The purpose of this report is to fulfill one of final report project in English Department of State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya.
The writers realize that this final report still has many weaknesses and is far from perfect. It is caused by the limitation of experience, ability, and knowledge that the writerhave. That being case, the writer would also be delighted to welcome any criticisms and suggestions to make this report better.
After all, the writer expect that this report can give useful information and advantages for the readers, especially for the students of English Department at State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya.

ABSTRACT

This final report aims to design a script for a novella entitled "Like or Leave it". The purpose of this research is to find the steps to design the script for the novella "Like or Leave it". In this final report, the writer used the method of research and development modified in Sukmadinata (2005). The writer gathered data through observations and interviews, designed the script for the novella, and was informed. The novella scenario was designed directly by the writer and then passed on to the experts. As a result of this research, the writer created a novella entitled "Like or Leave it". The writer has some suggestions. First, the writer hopes that this report will be one of the sources for readers to write the final report of the script design of the novella and continue to develop new ideas. Then to the readers of novels who can develop the abilities, ideas and techniques that can foster the creativity of making their own products.

Laporan akhir ini bertujuan untuk merancang sebuah naskah untuk sebuah novel yang berjudul “Like or Leave it”. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui langkah-langkah merancang naskah novella “Like or Leave it”. Dalam laporan akhir ini, penulis menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan yang dimodifikasi dalam Sukmadinata (2005). Penulis mengumpulkan data melalui observasi dan wawancara, merancang naskah novella, dan diberi tahu. Skenario novella dirancang langsung oleh penulis dan kemudian diteruskan ke ahlinya. Sebagai hasil dari penelitian ini, penulis membuat sebuah novella yang berjudul “Like or Leave it”. Penulis mendapat beberapa saran. Pertama, penulis berharap laporan ini dapat menjadi salah satu sumber bagi pembaca untuk menulis laporan akhir desain naskah novella dan terus mengembangkan ide-ide baru. Kemudian kepada para pembaca novella agae dapat mengembangkan kemampuannya, ide dan teknik yang dapat menumbuhkan kreativitas dalam membuat produk sendiri.
