James Matheus.2013. Pengaruh Bakteri Resisten Logam Berat terhadap Biomassa Tanaman Jagung, Populasi Mikroba, Cd dan pH pada Tanah Bekas Tambang Timah Pulau Bangka. Dibimbing oleh Dr. Reginawanti Hindersah, Ir., MP dan Dr. Hj. Anni Yuniarti, Ir.,MS.
iii ABSTRACT
James Matheus. 2013. The Influence of Heavy Metal Resistant Bacteria on Corn Biomass, Microbial Populations, Cd and pH of soil on ex-mining land of tin, Bangka island. Supervised by Dr. Reginawanti Hindersah, Ir., MP and Dr. Hj. Anni Yuniarti, Ir., MS.
This study aims to determine the influence variations of usage type and doses of heavy metal resistant bacteria on corn biomass, the bacterial population in the rhizosphere of corn, Cd and pH of tailing soil on ex-mining land of tin and bacteria concentrations are most influential on plant biomass, bacterial populations in the rhizosphere of corn, Cd and pH of ex-mining land of tin. Kates
Harendong’s Bacteria 1 (BKH1) and Kates Harendong’s Bacteria 2 (BKH2) are
type of bacteria that isolated by Research Institute for Soil in 2011, they are bacteria that lives on the roots of plants that are tolerant to the presence of heavy metals Cd. This research was conducted in the Greenhouse, Laboratorium of Soil Biotechnology, Laboratorium of Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition Soil Science Department Faculty of Agriculture, University of Padjadjaran with altitude 750 meters above sea level. The research starts from June to September 2012. Experimental design used in this study were randomized block design (RAK), which consists of seven variations treatment of bacteria type and doses on corn as an indicator and then repeated three times. Treatment consists of control, BKH1 isolates with a dose of 5 mL per pot, isolates BKH1 a dose of 10 mL per pot, BKH1 isolates with a dose 15 mL per pot, BKH2 isolates with a dose of 5 mL per pot, isolates BKH2 a dose of 10 mL per pot and isolates BKH2 a dose of 15 mL per pot. Plants grown for one month. The results indicated that usage of BKH1 with a dose of 10 mL per pot at medium (plants) denote a good enough influence on corn biomass, bacterial populations, and pH of soil, but neither with Cd.
