“Hubungan antara Periodontitis dengan Kelahiran Bayi Prematur
Berberat Badan Lahir Rendah”
Dengan tujuan untuk :
Mengetahui hubungan antara periodontitis dengan kelahiran bayi pematur berberat
badan lahir rendah
Dalam penelitian ini kepada Ibu akan dilakukan :
• Wawancara mengenai keluhan-keluhan yang ibu alami selama masa
kehamilan
• Pemeriksaan keadaan rongga mulut yang meliputi pemeriksaan gigi geligi dan
jaringan periodonsium
Adapun ketidaknyamanan yang akan dialami selama prosedur penelitian tersebut
adalah: saat pengisian kuisioner, saat pemeriksaan gigi geligi dan jaringan
periodonsium. Semua tindakan tersebut membutuhkan waktu 20-30 menit.
Keuntungan menjadi sampel yaitu untuk menambah pengetahuan mengenai
hubungan antara periodontitis dengan kelahiran bayi pematur berberat badan lahir
rendah sehingga dapat lebih intensif dalam menjaga higiene oral secara rutin dan
teratur untuk mencegah terjadinya penyakit periodontal. Penelitian ini tidak dipungut
biaya (gratis).
Jika Ibu bersedia, surat Pernyataan Kesediaan Menjadi Sampel Penelitian terlampir
harap ditandatangani. Perlu diketahui bahwa surat kesediaan tersebut tidak mengikat.
Demikian, mudah-mudahan keterangan kami diatas dapat dimengerti dan atas
kesediaan Ibu untuk berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini kami ucapkan terima kasih.

PENJELASAN BAGI SAMPEL PENELITIAN
Penelitian:
Hubungan antara Periodontitis dengan Kelahiran Bayi Prematur
Berberat Badan Lahir Rendah”
Peneliti: Siti Iwa Irana, Ade Apriliani, Khairiyah Ulfah, dan Shadia Shahira
Pada kesempatan ini, kami ingin agar Ibu mengetahui dan memahami tujuan
serta manfaat penelitian, sehingga memahami apa yang akan dilakukan, diperiksa dan
didapatkan sebagai hasil penelitian ini. Dengan demikian, kami berharap Ibu bersedia
ikut dalam penelitian sebagai sampel penelitian, dan kami percaya bahwa partisipasi
ini akan bermanfaat bagi Ibu yang sedang hamil maupun setelah melahirkan.
Apakah yang dimaksud dengan periodontitis?
Periodontitis secara umum diartikan sebagai inflamasi yang melibatkan
struktur periodontal pendukung.
Apakah yang dimaksud dengan bayi prematur berberat badan lahir rendah?
Bayi prematur berberat badan lahir rendah adalah bayi yang lahir dengan berat
kurang dari 2500 gram dan lahir sebelum 37 minggu usia kehamilan.
Apakah kaitan antara periodontitis dengan kelahiran bayi prematur berberat
badan lahir rendah?
Penyakit periodontal merupakan jalur tambahan terjadinya penjalaran
keradangan pada organ-organ perempuan hamil dan janin. Peradangan pada organ
lain selain saluran genital seperti jaringan periodontal dapat berpengaruh terhadap
janin dan plasenta. Peradangan pada organ lain ini menjalar ke membran luar plasenta
yang mengakibatkan robeknya membran lebih awal dan kerusakan plasenta.
Selanjutnya dapat menimbulkan pendarahan dan nekrosis jaringan plasenta yang akan
menghambat pertumbuhan janin
Apa yang dimaksud dengan status periodontal?
Kondisi jaringan periodonsium sampel yang diukur untuk mengetahui apakah
terjadi kerusakan pada jaringan tersebut mengingat jaringan periodonsium merupakan
jaringan yang berperan penting dalam mempertahankan gigi di rongga mulut.
Apa tujuan dan manfaat penelitian ini?
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara periodontitis
dengan kelahiran bayi pematur berberat badan lahir rendah

Manfaat penelitian ini adalah memberikan informasi kepada masyarakat
terutama ibu hamil tentang pentingnya kesehatan gigi dan rongga mulut sehingga
timbul kesadaran untuk selalu menjaga kebersihan gigi dan rongga mulutnya agar
resiko terjadinya kelahiran bayi prematur berberat badan lahir rendah dapat
berkurang.
Pemeriksaan apa saja yang dilakukan?
Subjek penelitian diharapkan mengisi data diri. Kemudian akan diberikan
kuesioner tentang periodontitis, selanjutnya akan dilakukan pemeriksaan status
periodontal pasien mulai dari indeks OHIS, perdarahan gingiva, kedalaman poket,
resesi gingiva dan kehilangan level perlekatan dan indeks CPITN.
Berapa lama penelitian akan dilakukan?
Penelitian dilakukan satu kali, pada pengisian data diri memakan waktu 5
menit, pengisian kuesioner 5 menit., dan pemeriksaan status periodontal 20 menit.
