ABSTRACT
Arkhiadi Benauli Tarigan “The Effect of Cordyceps militaris on Termites
Mortality (Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren) (Isoptera: Rhinotermitidae) in laboratory”, supervised by Maryani Cyccu Tobing and Syahrial Oemry. This study aims to examine the effectifity of C. militaris entomophatogen fungus against C. curvignathus in laboratory. This study was conducted in Pest Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty, University of Sumatera Utara, Medan with altitude 25 m on sea level. This study research using completely randomized design (CRD) nonfactorial with nine treatments and three replications : namely P0 (control), P1(C. militaris sprayed 10 gr/ 100 ml water), P2 (C. militaris sprayed 20 gr/ 100 ml water), P3(C. militaris sprayed 30 gr/ 100 ml water), P4 (C. militaris sprayed 40 gr/ 100 ml water), P5 (C. militaris sowed 10 gr), P6 (C. militaris sowed 20 gr), P7 (Jamur C. militaris sowed 30 gr) and P8 (Jamur C. militaris sowed 40 gr). Parameters were observed : mortality termites percentage (%), Termites actions and Lethal time 5.
The results showed of C. militaris fungus were significantly affected the mortality percentage of termites on 1-7 days after application and lethal time 50. The highest mortality percentage on last observation on P3,P4,P7 and P8 about 100% and the lowest on P1 about 78,33%. Termites was infected by C. militaris suffered mimification and after a few days grow colonies colored white fungus (micelium) around the body. The fastest of Lethal Time 50 C. militaris on termites on P8 about 3,67 days and the longest on P1 and P5 about 5,00 days .

Arkhiadi Benauli Tarigan, “Pengaruh Cordyceps militaris terhadap mortalitas rayap (Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren) (Isoptera: Rhinotermitidae) di laboratorium”, dibawah bimbingan Maryani Cyccu Tobing dan Syahrial Oemry. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menguji efektifitas dari jamur entomopatogen C. militaris
terhadap C. curvignathus di laboratorium. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Hama, Program Studi Agroekoteknologi, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non faktorial, yang terdiri dari 9 pelakuan dan 3 ulangan yaitu P0 (Kontrol), P1(jamur C. militaris
disemprotkan 10 gr/ 100 ml air), P2 (jamur C. militaris disemprotkan 20 gr/ 100 ml air), P3 (jamur C. militaris disemprotkan 30 gr/ 100 ml air), P4 (Jamur C. militaris
disemprotkan 40 gr/ 100 ml air), P5 (Jamur C. militaris ditaburkan 10 gr), P6 (Jamur
C. Militaris ditaburkan 20 gr) dan P7 (Jamur C. militaris ditaburkan 30 gr). Parameter yang diamati meliputi persentase mortalitas rayap (%), perilaku rayap dan Lethal Time 50 (hari).
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aplikasi C. militaris berpengaruh nyata terhadap persentase mortalitas rayap pada 1-7 HSA dan Lethal Time 50. Persentase mortalitas tertinggi pada rayap yang diberi perlakuan C. militaris terdapat pada perlakuan P3, P4, P7 dan P8 sebesar 100% dan terendah pada perlakuan P1 sebesar 78,33%. Rayap yang terinfeksi C. militaris akan mengalami mumifikasi dan setelah beberapa hari akan tumbuh koloni jamur bewarna putih disekitar tubuh. Lethal Time 50 C. militaris
terhadap rayap tercepat terdapat pada perlakuan P8 yakni 3,67 hari dan terlama pada perlakuan P1 dan P5 yakni 5,00 hari.
