ABSTRACK
This research has been done on spraying at Plantation Tanjung Garbus Pagar Merbau PTPN II in 2017 to know is there any relation of external factor with cholinesterase enzyme level on pesticide sprayer. This is because the sprayer at the time of mixing the dosage is not recommended, spraying 6 times a week and more than 4 hours a day, and not wearing complete personal protective equipment such as gloves, hats, masks, long-sleeved shirts, trousers, , And spray against the wind when spraying so it can be exposed to pesticides class of organophosphates and carbamates that inhibit and decrease activity of cholinesterase enzyme levels in the body.
This type of research is an analytic survey with cross sectional design. Total population of 30 sprayers and samples taken 30 sprayers with total population techniques. Interviews with questionnaires were conducted to find out external factors including dose, spraying frequency, spraying time, spray direction of wind direction, use of personal protective device with inspection of cholinesterase enzyme level of pesticide sprayer.
The results of this study showed that sprayers through the normal cholinesterase enzyme examination of 21 people and abnormal 9 people. The result of bivariate analysis with exact fisher test showed no significant korelation between spraying frequency, spraying time, spray direction toward wind direction with cholinesterase enzyme level.
It is recommended to spray 2 times a week and spray in a day less than 4 hours and spray using a complete standard self-protective device for pesticide sprayers consisting of gloves, hats, masks, long-sleeved shirts, trousers and spray boots not against Wind, to the company should pay attention to the health of every sprayer with periodic inspection of cholinesterase enzyme levels.
