Job Mission

The objective of the position is to strategically communicate to stakeholders and audiences about CTSP, including its work and impact; relationship to USCTI, the Regional Plan of Action and National Plans of Action; achievements to date; and expected outcomes.

The Communications Specialist will lead the CTSP communications efforts from the strategy to the implementation/ production of materials. He/she will manage the development of a range of awareness materials, including but not limited to fact sheets, press releases, and brief reports. The Specialist will also be an integral part of the establishment and upkeep of the CTSP website. The Communications Specialist will also ensure there are clear lines of communication with key partners including USAID RDMA, USAID-Indonesia, the PI, NOAA, and Consortium organizations. The Communications Specialist reports to and receives technical guidance from the CTSP Regional Program Office Management Team, consisting of the Chief of Party, the Deputy Chief of Party, the Monitoring &Evaluation Manager, and the Finance and Administration Manager. That said, the Communications Specialist is expected to take the lead on any and all initiatives involving communications.

1. Lead the finalization of CTSP communication strategy, including refinement of approach or products, or outreach events.

2. Develop and execute CTSP communication work plan which is derived from CTSP communication strategy and within the allocated budget.

3. Review and propose changes or modification to the CTSP communication strategy to CoP every fiscal year.

4. Manage production of communication materials of CTSP including:

a. content development;

b. collection of data/information from countries/sites or relevant sources;

c. approval as necessary; and d. production process of the materials.

5. Anticipate and coordinate communication activities within CTSP country/sites to ensure proper representation and documentation follow-up.

6. Work closely with the PI and consortium organizations’ communications departments to harmonize efforts.

7. Establish and maintain CTSP website,

10. Ensure that all target audiences receive/ have access to CTSP communication materials. Incorporate any stakeholder feedback into product development.

11. Ensure clients receive communications materials.

12. Encourage and enable country teams to contribute communications materials to RPO.

Kompetensi minimum yang harus dipenuhi oleh pemangku jabatan untuk dapat melakukan pekerjaannya sesuai dengan yang diharapkan.

5 to 10 years of communication experience, preferably in the development sector in Southeast Asia

Knowledge of and familiarity with USAID branding and marking guidelines Knowledge of and familiarity with marine conservation issues

Self-motivated and able to manage own time and workload as well as those of others (both support staff and vendors)

Detail-oriented

Able to work in small, interactive team Strong analytical thinking skills and judgment

Competence Propensity Gauge

Education: University Master Degree Sector Experience (In Yrs): 10 Skills

Excellent written and oral English language communication skills. Knowledge of other local languages a plus
