Students’ Perception towards English Text Spoken by Japanese
and Korean Students”

Abstract
This study was conducted in order to collect information regarding to students’ perception towards English text that already spoken by Japanese and Korean students as Non Native Speaker (NNS) of English. Less than a week of gathering information through questionnaire that supposed to represent their perception with 11 statements were asked to them in aiming at getting on the students’ perception towards English text spoken by Japanese and Korean speakers. This study simply aims to describe the phenomenon of intelligibility between NNS of English in this globalization era. The results indicated that intelligibility become the main important factor in speaking with a good pronunciation. However, teachers still have the orientation on the Asian countries for their guidance in teaching pronunciation. Therefore, this study explores more on the consciousness of the importance of students’ intelligibility as the aim of the pronunciation and communication. These findings contribute to a better understanding of intelligibility in listening as one skill of learning English.
