Contextual Teaching Learning for Improving Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Lecturing On the Move to Prepared the Graduates to Be Teacher in Schools of

Abstract
Teaching learning process of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning course has not satisfied as a lecturer expected. Student’s understanding and authority of subject matter still low. Most of student was not able to connect subject matter studied with the application of its in everyday life. Many students still feel difficult in comprehending of subject matter, even they could comprehend just superficial and quickly forget. In addition, student has low motivation also and passive in lecturing process. Along lecturing implementation, a few students submit question to lecturer, also respond question of lecturer.
It seems that strategy and learning approach has applied less appropriate with student characteristic and subject matter. The problems are: (1) whether the best way to explain various concepts so that all students can apply and comprehend those concepts. (2) How could make every student comprehend the subject matter as a part and interacting one to another forming fully understanding. (3) How lecturer can communicate effectively with their student in comprehending the concepts of course. (4) How lecturer can open the student knowledge insight, so that they can studying various concepts and correlating with reality life.
Besides, lecturers need prepare a learning strategy so that students can have provision in preparing themselves to be able to fulfill market demand. Now, government embolden the preparing schools of international level Rintisan Sekolah Bertaraf Internasional, RSBI and schools of international level Sekolah Bertaraf Internasional, SBI Which strategy applicable to increase student motivation and active role of student in teaching learning process. Therefore, it need to be searched compatible and good strategy that could overcome constraints of lecturing and increase student learning achievement or attaining of competence standard which has been specified.
This article will be described about applying of a strategy which applicable to overcome those problems above. The strategy is Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) based on competence. From result implementation of the strategy, it seems that this strategy affected positively to quality of lecturing as well as result of student learning for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning course.
