Indexing Journal in Google Scholar

•  If you have the technical exper?se to manage your own website, we recommend the Open Journal Systems (OJS) sodware that's available for download from the Public Knowledge Project (PKP).

•  Place each arGcle and each abstract in a separate HTML or

PDF ﬁle. At this ?me, we're unable to eﬀec?vely index

mul?ple abstracts on the same webpage or mul?ple papers in the same PDF file. Likewise, we're unable to index different sec?ons of the same paper in different files.

•  Each paper must have its own unique URL in order for it to

be included in Google Scholar.

•  Use Dublin Core tags (e.g., DC.Gtle) as a last resort. To check

that these tags are present, visit several abstracts and view their HTML source.

DOAJ Indexing

•  Coverage:

–  Subject : all scien?ﬁc and scholarly subjects are covered

–  Types of resource : scien?ﬁc and scholarly periodicals that publish research or review papers in full text.

–  Acceptable sources : academic, government, commercial, non-‐proﬁt private sources are all acceptable.

–  Level : the target group for included journals should be primarily researchers.

–  Content : a substan?ve part of the journal should consist of research papers. All content should be available in full text.

–  All languages

•  Access:

–  All content freely available.

–  Registra?on: Free user registra?on online is acceptable.

–  Open Access without delay (e.g. no embargo period).

•  Quality: For a journal to be included it should exercise quality control on submi"ed papers through an editor, editorial board and/or a peer-‐review system.

•  Periodical: The journal should have an ISSN (Interna?onal Standard Serial Number, for informa?on see h"p://www.issn.org).
