Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh pemberian tepung daun apu-apu (Pistia stratiotes) dalam ransum terhadap kenaikan kadar HDL (High
Density Lipopretein) dan penurunan kadar LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein).
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboraturium Biologi Ternak Program Studi Peternakan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara dimulai dari bulan Mei sampai dengan bulan Juli 2016. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan, yang terdiri dari T0 = ransum tanpa tepung daun apu-apu (Pistia stratiotes), T1 = ransum dengan tepung daun apu-apu (Pistia stratiotes) 5%, T2 = ransum dengan tepung daun apu-apu (Pistia stratiotes) 10%, T3 =ransum dengan tepung daun apu-apu (Pistia stratiotes) 15%. Peubah yang diamati adalah kadar HDL (High Density
Lipoprotein) dan kadar LDL(Low Density Lipoprotein).
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan tepung daun apu-apu (Pistia stratiotes) dalam ransum tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap kenaikan kadar HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) dan berpengaruh nyata terhadap penurunan kadar LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein). Pada parameter LDL(Low
Density Lipoprotein) rataantertinggiterdapatpadaperlakuanT0(ransumtanpatepung
daunapu-apu) yaitu 41,94 mg/dl danrataanterendahterdapatpadaperlakuan T2 (ransum dengan tepung daunapu-apu 10%). Kesimpulan pemberian tepung daun apu-apu (Pistia stratiotes) dengan kadar 10% dalam ransum dapat menurunkan kadar LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein) darah itik peking.

This study aims to find out at the effect of the water lettuce meal (Pistiastratiotes) on levels of HDL (High Density Lipopretein) and LDL(Low
Density Lipoprotein). This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal
Production Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatra Utara starting from May until July 2016. The design used in this study is completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications, treatment were level water lettuce meal (Pistiastratiotes) on diet consist of T0 = 0, T1 = 5%, T2 = 10%, T3 = 15%.
The variables measured are the levels of HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) and LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein).
The results showed that the utilization of water lettuce meal (Pistiastratiotes) in the diet had no significant effect (P>0,05) on HDL(High Density Lipoprotein) level and significant effect (P<0,05) on
decreasing LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein) level. In the variable of LDL (Low
Density Lipoprotein), the highest average found in the T0 = 41.94 mg/dl and the lowest average is found in treatment T2 = 8,99 mg/dl. It is concluded that
provision of 10% water lettuce meal(Pistiastratiotes) in the diet can reduce levels of LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein) peking duck blood.
