Masyarakat di negara berkembang khususnya Negara Indonesia tidak dapat melepaskan diri dari modernisasi terutama dalam hal teknologi baik itu teknologi komunikasi maupun teknologi informasi. Teknologi komunikasi saat ini mulai mengalami suatu kemajuan mulai dari telp rumah sampai hand phone (HP). Sebagai mahluk sosial manusia tidak pernah lepas dari yang namanya komunikasi dan manusia tidak dapat hidup seorang diri. Bentuk umum dari proses sosial yaitu interaksi sosial oleh karena itu proses sosial merupakan syarat utama terjadinya aktivitas-aktivitas sosial.
Kehidupan keluarga di JL. Ijen Malang mayoritas banyak menggunakan tenaga orang lain untuk menyelesaikan tugas rumah tangga yaitu pembantu rumah tangga (PRT). PRT jaman dulu berbeda dengan PRT saat ini artinya PRT jaman dulu tidak diberi upah oleh majikannya tetapi hanya diberi makan dan tempat tinggal dirumah majikan (mengabdi sampai tua). Sedangkan PRT saat ini tidak hanya sekedar membantu melainkan mereka bekerja untuk mendapatkan gaji. PRT saaat ini tidak kalah ketinggalan dengan arus perkembangan teknologi artinya cara
berkomunikasi mereka lebih modern yaitu dengan menggunakan HP salah satu contoh yaitu PRT di JL. Ijen Malang.
Adapun rumusan masalah ini adalah bagaimanakah pemahaman PRT dalam penggunaan teknologi HP dan bagaimanakan pola interaksi PRT dalam menggunakan teknologi HP. Pada penelitian ini penulis menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus spesifik kolektif. Teknik pengumpulan datanya melalui observasi langsung dan wawancara mendalam sedangkan analisa datanya yaitu analisa data model interaktif. Sebagai kerangka analisa data penulis menggunakan teori interaksionisme simbolik.
Abstract
Communities in developing countries especially Indonesia State can not escape from modernization, especially in terms of both technology and communication technology information technology.
Communications technology are now starting to experience an improvement ranging from home phone to mobile phone (HP). As social human beings never be separated from the name of communication and human beings can not live alone. The general form of the social process of social interaction is therefore
a social process is the primary condition of social activities.
Family life in JL. Ijen Malang majority many employ others to complete the task of household domestic servants (PRT). PRT PRT is different from earlier times when this means that domestic workers in the past were not given wages by his employer but was given only food and shelter at home employers (served until the elderly). While the PRT is not just helpful but they are working to get a salary. Saaat PRT is no less lag with the current developments in technology mean they are more modern way of
communicating is by using the HP one example of PRT in JL. Ijen Malang.
The formulation of this problem is how the understanding of domestic workers in the use of HP
technology and how is the interaction pattern of domestic workers in using HP technology. In this study, the authors use this type of qualitative research with specific collective case study approach.
Engineering data collection through direct observation and in-depth interviews, while data analysis is an interactive model of data analysis. As a frame of data analysis the author uses the theory of symbolic
interactionism.
From the research results obtained by the explanation that the HP for domestic workers is the most important communication tool because with HP they can communicate with anyone, especially with the male employer and employer of women. Although they only work as domestic workers but HP is the image, slang, trends, styles and they also feel confident. HP which are owned by the PRT is not just for personal interest but also to the interests of the employer whether the male employer or employers of
women.
The conclusion was that workers feel insecure and jealous with others if they do not have a cell phone in modern times such as this. For those employers who work in Malang PRT can meet every day and even they can talk. Frequently used means of communication between the employer and the maid of the house phone or phone to HP if SMS is rare. HP which are owned by the PRT is a result of their salary to work and not a gift from her employer. PRT buy HP does not see the brand as long as the HP-owned
communications can be made.
