ABSTRACT
MELIANA SAMOSIR, 2016: “The Utilization of fermented Vegetable
Waste on non carcass percentage on Local Sheep” supevissed by
TRI HESTI WAHYUNI and HASNUDI.
The objective of this research is utilization of fermented vegetable waste to the percentage of non-carcass at the local sheep. Research conducted at the Laboratory Animal Sciences Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra in June - September 2016 using a completely randomized design (CRD) with four replications five treatments using sheep with the average initial weight of 13.4 ± 1.2 kg. The treatments consisted of five levels of administration fermented vegetables waste P0 (0%), P1 (25%), P2 (50%), P3 (75%), P4 (100%). Parameters measured were: percentage of weight of the head, feet, skin, head, trachea and lungs, heart, liver, blood and digestive tract.
The results showed the average percentage of head weight intake for treatment : P0, P1, P2, P3, P4, were percentage of heart weight: 0.81, 0.72, 1.17, 1.42 and 1,38. Results of the analysis showed that fermented vegetable waste had no significant effect (P 0,05 >0) on the percentage of edible non carcass componens except percentage of heart weight. Conclusion fermented vegetable waste can not increase the percentage of edible non carcass componens except percentage heart weinght.
