Caution! Please note that the 2015-2016 guidelines still apply to you (in other words, you are not concerned by the

2016-2017 guidelines which apply to the Fall 2016 intake students, their MSc thesis campaign starts on December 2 and the

rules are quite different).

Dear student,

This email pertains to your master thesis work. Please find at the top of this email a link to an application ThesisMaster@ske a.edu: it enables you to register the name of your supervisor and your subject proposal. Please use the login / password included.

The deadline for submitting the completed form is February 28, 2017 at 23:59 (Paris time), whether you managed to find a supervisor, or not.

Before completing it, we would like to provide you with some information regarding the key principles concerning thesis supervision. Please read them carefully.

1. It is your responsibility to find a supervisor from the list provided on Knowledge

http://knowledge.skema.edu/main/document/document.php?cidReq=MASTERSTHESIS&curdirpath=/2015-2016 (you have to log in) AND obtain his/her written approval (email approval is sufficient). As your programme is part of a department (see table below), you will search, in priority, for a supervisor in the given department. You will also have the possibility of identifying a supervisor fro outside your progra e s depart e t. Please inform the supervisor you identified that you will work under the 2015-2016 rules, so that there is no confusion.

2. It is your job to convince the supervisor of the quality of your project and your commitment to the process.

3. Under the 2015-2016 rules, the master thesis can be carried out alone or in pairs. If you work in pairs, the quantity of work implied by your research question and your data requirements and analysis must be sufficient to justify the need for two students on the project. It is up to you to justify this. You will also be responsible for organizing your work together (you cannot expect your supervisor to allocate tasks or to intervene is cases of disagreement between you).

4. If you are unable to find a supervisor, please fill in the dedicated space on the thesis master application form, informing us about your difficulty and explaining briefly why you did not manage to find a supervisor. In this case, you will be allocated a supervisor in the month following the deadline.

5. If you do not fill in the Masters Thesis form by the deadline, a 2 mark penalty will be applied. You must complete it even if you have not managed to find a supervisor.

6. The guidelines for writing a thesis, showing the different deadlines, are available on Knowledge. Please read them carefully

We wish you every success in your master thesis project: good luck! The Master’s thesis team
