Communication is activity of expressing ideas to make relationship with other human beings. Speaking is as one of the active skills, requires the language learners or the students to be active learners. So, speaking skill has important role to the students for communication in the target language. In fact, many teachers have difficult to teach speaking skill to the students because they have problem to do it. Learning process in bamboo dancing method is started by giving question to students. Teacher does little discussion with students. After discussing, teacher will divide students into two groups.

By using Bamboo Dancing Method the students can enjoy to practice speaking. This research has a purpose to find out the answer from the statement of the problem. The purposed of this research is to find out whether there is a significant difference between the speaking ability of the eleventh grade students of SMK N 1 Kudus in 2015/2016 academic year before and after being taught by Bamboo Dancing Method.

Population of this research is the eleventh grade students of SMKN 1 Kudus in 2015/2016 academic year. It consists of 525 students that were divided into 14 classes and each class has different number of students. The subject of the research was the eleventh grade students (PS1) of SMK N 1 Kudus and the total number of sample is 38. This research was a quantitative research which relies on quantitative data based on computation and measurement, operational variables and statistics. The design of this research was the quasi-experimental which was used pre-test and post-test though oral test. The instrument of this research was oral test

The data analysis is shows that before being taught by using Bamboo Dancing Method, the minimum score is 52 ,the maximum score is 80, the mean score is 65, and standard deviation is 7. It indicates that English speaking ability is categorized as sufficient. Meanwhile, after being taught by using Bamboo Dancing Method the minimum score is 64, the maximum score is 92,the mean score is 78.5, and standard deviation is 6.5.It indicates that English speaking ability is categorized as good. The mean of the post test is better than the

pretest(78.5>6.5).Therefore, the hypothesis of the research that states that there is a significant difference between the ability of the eleventh grade students before

and after being taught by using Bamboo Dancing Method confirmed.

Considering the process and results of this research, the writer suggests that the English teacher should prepare various methods for the teaching- learning process to avoid students’ boredom. The writer hopes the next writer can conduct the better research by developing of “Bamboo Dancing Method” in the other skills.

Komunikasi adalah kegiatan mengekspresikan ide-ide untuk membuat hubungan dengan manusia lainnya. Berbicara, sebagai salah satu keterampilan yang aktif, memerlukan bahasa peserta didik atau siswa untuk menjadi

pembelajar aktif. Keterampilan berbicara memiliki peran penting untuk siswa untuk komunikasi dalam bahasa target. Bahkan, banyak guruh arus sulit untuk mengajarkan keterampilan berbicara untuk siswa karena mereka memiliki masalah untuk melakukannya.

Bamboo Dancing Method adalah metode yang dimulai dari pemberian pertanyaan kepada siswa. Guru membuat diskusi kecil dengan siswa. setelah berdiskudi, guru akan membagi siswa menjadi dua kelompok. Bamboo Dancing Method yang digunakan para siswa akan merasa senang untuk berlatih berbicara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jawaban dari pernyataan masalah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan berbicara siswa kelas XI SMK N 1 Kudus di tahun ajaraan 2015/2016 sebelum dan setelah diajarkan oleh menggunakan Bamboo Dancing Method.

Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas sebelas di SMK N 1 Kudus tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Jumlah populasinya sebanyak 525 siswa yang terbagi menjadi empat belas kelas. Penulis memakai kelas sebelas PS1 yang memiliki 38 siswa yang menjadi sempel pada penelitian ini. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang bergantung pada data kuantitatif berdasarkan

perhitungan dan pengukuran, variabel operasional dan statistik. Desain penelitian ini adalah kuasi-eksperimental yang menggunakan pre-test dan post-test.

Instrumen penelitian ini adalah tes lisan.

Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa sebelum diajarkan menggunakan Bamboo Dancing Method, skor minimum adalah 52, skor maksimum adalah 80,skor rata-rata adalah 6.5 dan standar deviasi 7. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berbahasa Inggris dikategorikan sebagai cukup. Sementara itu,setelah diajarkan dengan menggunakan Bamboo Dancing Method skor minimal adalah 64, skor maksimum adalah 92, skor rata-rata adalah 78.5 dan

standar deviasi adalah 6.5. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berbahasa Inggris dikategorikan sebagai baik. Mean dari posttest lebih baik dari pretest( 78.5> 6,5) .Oleh karena itu, hipotesis penelitian yang menyatakan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan siswa kelas sebelas sebelum dan setelah diajarkan dengan menggunakan Bamboo Dancing Method dikonfirmasi .

Mengingat proses dan hasil penelitian ini Guru bahasa Inggris harus mempersiapkan berbagai metode-metode untuk proses belajar-mengajar untuk menghindari kebosanan siswa, dan peneliti berharap peneliti selanjutnya dapat menggunakan Bamboo Dancing Method pada skil yang lain.
