PENDAHULUAN
■ SARS-CoV-2 adalah virus corona penyebab COVID-19 termasuk genus beta-Coronavirus
■ Mempunyai variant alpha, beta, gama, delta, epsilon yang sudah ditemukan dibeberapa negara UK, South of Africa, Brazil, India dan Indonesia
■ Variant Delta-Coronavirus saat ini menyebabkan penyebaran dan kematian sangat tinggi
■ Indonesia menyebabkan kematian kurang lebih 79.032
■ Indonesia telah dilakukan vaksinasi sekitar 16,1 % dari populasi seluruh Indonesia
■ Mempunyai karakteristik response imune yang beragam
VARIANTS OF COVID 19
■ The World Health Organisation has classified each emerging variant as either a Variant of Concern (VOC) or a Variant of Interest (VOI). The Alpha,
Beta, Gamma and Delta variants fall under Variants of Concern. Whereas the Eta, Iota, Kappa and Lambda fall under Variants of Interest.
■ Delta is the name for the B.1.617.2. variant, a SARS-CoV-2 mutation that originally surfaced in India. The first Delta case was identified in December 2020, and the strain spread rapidly, soon becoming the dominant strain of the virus in both India and then Great Britain.

Back g r ou n d : Incident s of SARS-CoV-2 in East Java incr eased st eadily, and it becam e t he second epicent er in Indonesia. The COVID-19 pandem ic caused a dir e m ult isect or al cr isis all ar ound t he wor ld. This st udy invest igat es and char act erizes local isolat es from East Java, Indonesia.
M et h od s: There wer e 54 pat ient s suspect ed wit h SARS-COV-2 infect ion and 27 pat ient s wer e COVID-19 posit ive. Virus
isolat es wer e obt ained from COVID-19 inpat ient s’ nasophar yngeal sw abs at t he Dr Soet om o Teaching Hospit al, Surabaya. Ther e wer e only t h r ee isolat es (# 6, # 11, # 35) wit h good gr owt h
