coast plain.

 Its width is about 65 km.  Its average width is about 120km.

 Indian Railways Net work runs on the Broad Gauge and Meter Gauge.

 Road network in India is the Second Longest in the World.

 Indian Railways is the largest rail network in Asia and Second largest in the world.

 A Geographic Information System combines computer drawn maps with a database management system.

 Global Positioning Systems provides reliable location and time information in all weather and at all times.

 Transport companies use GIS to locate shortest routes for delivering goods and to save time

 Surveying, Map-making, navigation, Cellular Telephony, and Geofencing are the main civilian use of GPS.

 Law enforcement agencies use GIS to map, visualize and analyses crime incident patterns.

 GPS has become a widely used and a useful tool for commerce, scientific uses, tracking and surveillance.
