UKURAN, NUANSA, DAN ARTI LAMBANG
1. Lambang Daerah Provinsi Gorontalo pada bagian luar berbentuk atau jantung yang memberi makna kesetiaan sebagai pelindung kehidupan rakyat Gorontalo.
2. Lambang Daerah Provinsi Gorontalo pada bagian dalam berbentuk bulat lonjong atau bulat telur yang memberi makna adanya gaga‐ san, ide atau cita‐cita yang indah, yang kelak menetas menjadi se‐ suatu kesejahteraan hidup rakyat Gorontalo.
3. Lambang Daerah Provinsi Gorontalo dengan bentuk dalam yang menampakkan keserasian formasi gambar yang terdiri dari warna putih di tengah dan diikuti oleh posisi padi ‐ bintang, kapas ‐ rantai
vi Gorontalo Dalam Angka 2011 / Gorontalo in Figures 2011 memberi makna adanya keteraturan adat, agama, hukum dalam semua pola kehidupan masyarakat.
4. Lambang Daerah Provinsi Gorontalo dapat dibuat dalam berbagai ukuran sehingga dapat disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dimana lambang tersebut ditempatkan.
5. Lambang Daerah Provinsi Gorontalo memiliki nuansa Global : a. Warna biru keunguan adalah warna yang memberi makna te‐
nang, setia dan selalu ingin mempertahankan kebenaran dan harapan masa depan yang cerah.
b. Model pohon kelapa yang melengkung memberi makna gerak dinamis dan tidak diam tetapi selalu berbuat untuk masa de‐ pan.
c. Sayap maleo yang mengembang memberi makna dinamika siap untuk tinggal landas dan siap bersaing.
d. Buku yang terbuka melambangkan keinginan masyarakat untuk untuk siap meraih prestasi dalam Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Tek‐ nologi serta Iman dan Taqwa secara terus menerus.
e. Bintang mengandung makna global jika dikaitkan dengan cita‐ cita yang tinggi yaitu "Gantungkan cita‐cita setinggi bintang di langit"
f. Pita mempunyai makna keinginan masyrakat Gorontalo untuk menyerap, merekam dan memiliki ilmu pengetahuan dan tek‐ nologi.
6. Lambang Daerah Gorontalo memiliki nuansa Nasional :
a. Padi dan Kapas yang mengandung makna kemakmuran dan ke‐ sejahteraan seperti pada Pancasila.
b. Rantai mempunyai makna adanya pengakuan persatuan dan kesatuan dalam kerangka Bhineka Tunggal Ika.
7. Lambang daerah Gorontalo memiliki nuansa Lokal :
a. Bintang adalah lambang keagamaan, sehingga selaras dengan filosofi "Adat bersendikan syara, syara bersendikan Kitabullah".

c. Rantai mempunyai makna adanya pengakuan persatuan dan kesatuan dalam kerangka Bhineka Tunggal Ika. 8. Pemaknaan warna dan simbol‐simbol lainnya dalam lambang a. Simbol rantai yang memberi makna pada peristiwa patriotik • Rantai yang berjumlah 23 butir melambangkan tanggal 23 Januari • Kapas yang berjumlah 19 buah dan padi berjumlah 42 butir melambangkan tahun 1942 b. Sayap maleo yang berjumlah 16 helai melambangkan lahirnya Provinsi Gorontalo pada tanggal 16 Februari 2000 c. Warna : • Hijau mempunyai makna kesuburan • Kuning Mempunyai makna keagungan dan Kemuliaan • Putih bermakna Kesucian dan Keluhuran • Merah mempunyai makna keberanian dan perjuangan

Syukur Alhamdulillah kita panjatkan kehadirat Allah SWT atas Rahmat dan Ridho-Nya sehingga buku “Gorontalo Dalam Angka 2011” dapat diterbitkan.
Buku ini merupakan kompilasi data dan angka Provinsi Gorontalo yang disusun oleh Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Provinsi Gorontalo. Tu-juan utama diterbitkannya buku ini adalah untuk memberikan informasi yang lengkap tentang Provinsi Gorontalo yang dapat dengan mudah diakses oleh siapa saja.
Percepatan pembangunan ekonomi membutuhkan basis data yang akurat untuk kepentingan perencanaan, monitoring dan evaluasi program-program pembangunan. Saya sangat mengharapkan penerbi-tan buku ini dapat menjadi referensi resmi bagi lembaga-lembaga pe-merintah dan masyarakat.

Lets praise to the Almighty God that has been giving us blessing and mercies, so this book of “Gorontalo in Figures 2011” can be published.
This book is a compilation about facts and figurtes of the Goron-talo Province that compiled by BPS-Statistics of GoronGoron-talo Province. The main purpose of this publication is to provide information about Goron-talo Province, that can be easily accesed by anyone.
Acceleration of economic development required accurate data-base for planning, monitoring, and evaluating progress of development. I really hope that this publiation can be official reference for govern-ment insitution and public.
I greatly appreciate and gratitude for all effort to the parties involved, compilating, and publishing of Gorontalo in Figures 2011. May this publication is useful for data user.

The publication of Gorontalo in Figures 2011 presents various data from various fields comprehensively with descriptive analysis and technical explanation for each sector. So that we know general picture of Gorontalo Province in the year 2010.
This publication cannot be published without attention, coo-peration, contribution and support from various government institu-tions, and private organization.
