ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kandang Unggas Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran mulai tanggal 28 Oktober – 25 November 2013. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian bawang putih
(Allium sativum) terhadap jumlah dan ukuran vili ileum puyuh. Penelitian ini
menggunakan metode eksperimental dan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Terdapat empat jenis perlakuan (P0 = 0 g; P1 = 0,525 g; P2 = 1,050 g; dan P3 = 1,575 g BK bawang putih) dengan enam ulangan. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa pemberian bawang putih konsentrasi 1,050 g memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata terhadap ukuran tinggi vili ileum puyuh dibandingkan dengan P0 = 30,333 µ (P1 = 34,667 µ, P2 = 37 µ, P3 = 30,333 µ), sedangkan pada jumlah vili ileum puyuh tidak memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata dengan P0 = 8,167 (P1 = 10,5, P2 = 10,833, P3 = 9,333), dan juga pada ukuran lebar vili ileum puyuh tidak memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata dengan P0 = 2,5 µ (P1 = 2,833 µ, P2 = 3,5 µ, P3 = 3,667 µ). Dosis optimal untuk pemberian ekstrak bawang putih sebesar 1,050 g per kilogram ransum untuk meningkatkan jumlah, ukuran tinggi dan lebar vili ileum puyuh.

ABSTRACT
This research was carried out at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Poultry Cage, Padjadjaran University Sumedang from 28 October to 25 November 2013. The study was aimed to determine the effect of garlic administration (Allium
sativum) on the number and size of villi of ileal quail. This study used an
experimental method and completely randomized design (CRD) was applied. There were four treatments (P0 = 0 g, P1 = 0.525 g, P2 = 1.050 g and P3 = 1.575 g DM of garlic) with six replications. Results of statistical analysis showed that administration of garlic concentration of 1.050 g provided a significantly different effect on the height of ileal villi of quail compared to P0 = 30.333 µ (P1 = 34.667 µ, P2 = 37 µ, P3 = 30.333 µ), while the number of ileal villi of quail did not give a significantly different effect with P0 = 8.167 (P1 = 10.5, P2 = 10.833, P3 = 9.333), and also on the width of ileal villi of quail did not give a significantly different effect with P0 = 2.5 µ (P1 = 2.833 µ, P2 = 3.5 µ, P3 = 3.667 µ). Optimal doses for administration of garlic extract was 1.050 g per kilogram of ration to increase the number, height and width of ileal villi of quail.
