Abstract
Group work activity has been very popular nowadays because it gives the students chance to speak more, to share ideas, to overcome the problems given, and to think critically. Many research conducted by many experts show that it gave benefits and positive impacts to the students. However, no research presented the students’ perceptions about group work activities. Thus, this study focused on the students’ perceptions about group work activities. The participants were 60 students of Satya Wacana High School. The study shows that most of the participants had the same perspective toward group work activities and most of their attitude toward it was positive. Although most of the students felt that group work activities gave them positive impacts, yet, some students saw it differently. When it came to the problems they encountered in doing group work activities, most of them responded that many students were not actively involved in the group work activities. The participants also stated that group work activity was not very effective because it required a lot of time.
