NETANYA PANGGABEAN : Evaluasi Populasi Bakteri Tanah pada Piringan Tanaman Kelapa Sawit Akibat Pemberian Pupuk NPK Komplit, dibimbing oleh Prof Dr. Ir. T. Sabrina, M.Sc. dan Dr. Kemala Sari Lubis, S.P., M.P.
Biota tanah berperan dalam siklus karbon, siklus nutrisi, struktur tanah, peraturan biotik, dan mutualisme yang mempengaruhi kemampuan tanah untuk mendukung pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman. Mengingat pentingnya pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman pada lahan perkebunan, maka diperlukan upaya peningkatan populasi biota tanah dengan menggunakan pupuk NPK komplit. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di areal Perkebunan Kelapa Sawit Desa Gajah Kecamatan Sei Balai Kabupaten Batubara dengan mengambil sampel tanah pada tanaman yang telah dipupuk dan tidak dipupuk NPK Komplit pada bulan April - September 2015.Data yang diperoleh akan diolah dengan menggunakan program SPSS Statistic 17.0
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk NPK komplit pada piringan tanaman kelapa sawit jika dibandingkan dengan tanpa pemberian pupuk NPK komplit maka populasi bakteri Bacillus spp. dan Lactobacillus spp. di sekitar piringan kelapa sawit tidak berbeda antara yang telah diberikan pupuk NPK komplit dan tidak diberikan pupuk NPK komplit.
Hubungan antara kehadiran bakteri tanah terhadap sifat tanah terlihat bahwa kehadiran Bacillus spp. mempengaruhi kadar air tanah dan N-total tanah. Kehadiran Azotobacter spp. dan Lactobacillus spp. pada piringan tanaman kelapa sawit tidak mempengaruhi sifat tanah.

Soil biota contribute to carbon cycle, nutrition cycle, soil structure, biotic rules, and mutualism that effect the soil ability to support plant growth and production. Considering the importance of plant growth and production, the effort of enhancement soil biota population utilize complete NPK fertilizer is required. The research was done in the area of Oil Palm Plantation Desa Gajah Kecamatan Sei Balai Kabupaten Batubara by take soil samples on plants that have been fertilized and not fertilized complete NPK then the soil samples in April - September 2015. The data has been processed using SPSS Statistics 17.0
The results showed that the complete NPK fertilizer in weeded circle of oil palm compared with no fertilizer NPK complete, the population of bacteria Bacillus spp. and Lactobacillus spp. around the weeded circle did not differ between the weeded circle that has been given a complete NPK fertilizer and a non complete NPK fertilizers. The relationship between the presence of soil bacteria to the soil properties is seen that the presence of Bacillus spp. affect groundwater levels and N-total ground. The presence of Azotobacter spp. and Lactobacillus spp. in weeded circle did not affect the soil properties.
