PEMBUATAN GENTENG POLIMER BERBAHAN BAKU PASIR DAN LIMBAH PADAT PULP DREGS DENGAN PEREKAT RESIN

ABSTRAK
Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk pembuatan genteng polimer yang dibuat dengan campuran pasir, limbah padat pulp dregs, resin polyester, dan thinner. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui campuran terbaik dari pasir dan limbah padat pulp dregs sebagai variabel bebas dengan variasi komposisi (100:0) gr, (95:5) gr, (90:10) gr, (85:15) gr, (80:20) gr, dan (75:25) gr. Kemudian ditambahkan variabel tetap yaitu resin polyester 20 gr sebagai perekat dan thinner 10 gr sebagai pengencer. Kemudian ditekan dengan Hot Compressor selama 20 menit pada suhu 90°C. Sifat-sifat genteng yang dianalisis yaitu sifat fisis meliputi densitas, daya serap air, dan porositas, sifat mekanik meliputi kuat impak dan kuat lentur, analisis mikrostruktur meliputi uji SEM-EDX, serta sifat termal meliputi uji DTA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa campuran yang bagus sesuai dengan percobaan adalah berupa campuran pasir dan limbah padat pulp dregs dengan perbandingan (90:10) gr dengan penambahan 20 gr resin poliester sebagai perekat, serta thinner 10 gr dan katalis 0,3 gr.

MANUFACTURE OF POLYMER TILES WHICH MADE FROM SANDS AND SOLID WASTE OF PULP DREGS WITH POLYMER RESIN AS AN
ADHESIVE
ABSTRACT
The research has been done for manufacture of polymer tiles which is made with a mixture of sands, solid waste of a pulp dregs, polyester resin, and thinner. The purpose of this research is to find out the best of the mixture of sands and solid waste of pulp dregs as a free variables with composition (100:0) gr, (95:5) gr, (90:10) gr, (85:15) gr, (80:20) gr, and (75:25) gr. Then polyester resin 20 gr as adhesive and thinner 10 gr as diluent were added as a fixed variables. The mixture was pressed with hot compressor for 20 minutes in 90°C. Characteristics of tiles that have been analyzed which is the physical characteristics are density, water absorption, and porosity, and the mechanical characteristics are the power of impact and flexural strength, microstructural analysis which involve SEM-EDX test, and also thermal character is DTA test. The result of this research shows that the best test of the mixture was made from the mixture of sands and solid waste of pulp dregs with ratio (90:10) gr with the addition of 20 gr polyester resin as an adhesive, also thinner 10 gr and catalytic 0,3 gr.
