PSE (Professional Services Engineer)

As a Professional Services Engineer, you will provide professional services (PS) and support for Fast Lane Consulting (FLC) customers and partners. Professional Services Engineer works with customers to understand customer requirements and delivers data center service projects. Service projects include various aspects of project planning, design, implementation, optimization, and support processes.

Responsibility:

The essential responsibilities of the Professional Services Engineer are to collaborate with the Professional Services team and to deliver integrated solutions to assist FLC customers through our services including:

 Provides Professional Services (PS) delivery of Data Center related projects. Billable utilization target is 75%

 Develops deep technical skillset and expertise in several Data Center technologies

 Project planning for data center infrastructure implementation tasks

 Installation and configuration of infrastructure vendor hardware and software products.

 Implementation of backup and restore, disaster recovery, storage consolidation, data protection, virtualization, etc.

 NAS,SAN data migration for different OS and different storage systems.

Requirements:

 Strong verbal and written communications skills are essential and are utilized in communicating with team members, systems administrators and managers.

 Ability to work well with customers’ technical representatives to understand and meet customer expectations.

 Have experience in the following areas:

o Windows: good knowledge of Windows Server

o Unix: good knowledge of Unix or Linux administration concepts including disk and network administration

o Networking: knowledge of Ethernet, IP, DNS and NIS associated daemons. Knowledge of network architectures including routers and switches.

o Compute: Cisco UCS, HP Blade system or rack mount servers, etc. o Virtualization: VMware vSphere, Citrix Xenserver, Microsoft Hyper-V o Data Protection: EMC, NetApp, Symantec and Commvault, etc. o Good knowledge of NAS, DAS, SAN (fabric attached architectures). o Experience with NetApp and/or EMC storage fundamentals.

 Off hours work (nights and weekends) is required.

Education & Experience:

 A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience is required.

 NetApp/VMware/Cisco Data Center Certification is preferred.

 MCP and other Microsoft Certifications are a plus.
