Engine Compartment:
O Check and adjust valve clearance (M20 – M30) O Change oil and oil filter.
O Check battery acid level and correct if needed. O Check coolant level and inspect system for leaks. O Check steering fluid and brake/clutch fluid level. O Check windshield washer fluid level.
O Check ATF fluid and LAD level (if equipped). O Lubricate throttle linkage
Undercarriage:
O Check transmission for external leaks.
O Check manual transmission level, add if needed. O Check final drive fluid level, add if needed.
O Check fuel lines, fuel tank and all connections for leaks. O Inspect exhaust system.
O Check steering box and steering linkages for leaks and excess play. O Inspect brake callipers, rotors and brake pad thickness.
O Inspect brake hoses and lines for damage or leaks. O Check handbrake, adjust cable if needed.
O Inspect front suspension and wheel bearings for play. O Inspect wheels, tires and adjust tire pressures.
O Check spare tire pressure.
Body and Interior:
O Lubricate door hinges, hood latch and hood hinges.
O Check operation of exterior/interior lights (including glove box, engine compartment…). O Check headlight and driving light aiming.
O Check condition and function of seat belts. O Check operation of washer system.
O Check wiper blades condition.
O Check active check control panel for faults.
O Check function of air conditioning. Check refrigerant charge at sight glass. O Tighten A/C compressor mounting bolts.
O Tighten nuts and bolts for door locks and striker plates.
O Replace intake dust/pollen micro filter in A/C unit (no filter in ’89 E34). O Replace batteries for alarm/remote control in master key (if equipped).
