Abstract
This study is intended at identifying English language needs of front office employees in
Salatiga. The participants of this study were two males’ front office employees at Laras Asri
Hotel in Salatiga. The data of this study were collected through an adapted questionnaire, and interview. The result of this study indicates that the speaking skill was the major need of the front officer in the hotel because oral communication is the most frequently used skill to communicate with the customers. Besides that, some problems were found in listening such as listening to accents and dialects. Listening skill is also needed by the front officer since speaking and listening are interrelated skills. Based on the findings, one suggestion was proposed: prepare a Language Training program to improve the employees’ Language skill.
