Proximal manholes are cleaned with a high pressure vacuum equipment when complaint is lodged

Distal manholes remain unattended for years

Exposure to human faecal pathogens

• There were no storm water drains in this settlement. With a mild shower, the lanes of get were not being cleaned out.

• Households in the most distal part of the settlement, complain of frequent overflowing of manholes. On such occasions, their drinking water would also smell of sewage.

• Some of the lane inspection chambers were broken and either covered with stone or left open.
