SO WHAT WE DO?
EWS
Proximal manholes are cleaned with a high pressure vacuum equipment when complaint is lodged
Distal manholes remain unattended for years
Exposure to human faecal pathogens
• There were no storm water drains in this settlement. With a mild shower, the lanes of get were not being cleaned out.
• Households in the most distal part of the settlement, complain of frequent overflowing of manholes. On such occasions, their drinking water would also smell of sewage.
• Some of the lane inspection chambers were broken and either covered with stone or left open.
