MAKNA LAMBANG KABUPATEN PROBOLINGGO
1. a. Bintang berwarna kuning merupakan pertanda KETUHANAN YANG MAHA ESA.
b. Lima berkas sinar bintang, dimaksudkan sebagai pertanda Dasar Falsafah Negara RI, yaitu PANCASILA, sebagai perwujudan kejiwaan bangsa Indonesia, yang kita amankan dan amalkan.
2. Angin berwarna merah putih merupakan ciri khas dari daerah Kabupaten Probolinggo, yang terkenal
dengan sebutan “ANGIN GENDING”. Angin yang arusnya sangat deras yang datang setiap musim
kemarau dari arah tenggara.
3. Gunung, sebagai pertanda “GUNUNG BROMO”. Sebuah gunung di daerah Kabupaten Probolinggo, terletak di Pegunungan Tengger dalam sebuah kaldera yang luas dengan garis tengahnya kurang lebih 11 (sebelas) kilometer.
4. Sungai, sebagai pertanda “SUNGAI BANGER”. Sebuah sungai yang semula memberi nama daerah Kabupaten Probolinggo ini, pada zaman Bupati Probolinggo yang pertama : KYAI TUMENGGUNG DJOJOLELONO (Tahun 1746 – 1768).
5. Dataran tanah berwarna hijau, merupakan pertanda keadaan tanah daerah Kabupaten Probolinggo yang cukup subur.
6. Gelombang air laut, yang menunjukkan letak daerah Kabupaten Probolinggo di tepi pantai Selat Madura.
7. Daun anggur sebanyak 4 (empat) helai berwarna hijau muda, dengan buah anggur 17 (tujuh belas) buah menunjukkan hasil buah-buahan khas daerah Kabupaten Probolinggo (terkenal sejak tahun 1913).
8. Daun mangga sebanyak 5 (lima) helai berwarna hijau, dengan buah mangga 8 (delapan) buah, menunjukkan buah-buahan yang terkenal di seluruh Indonesia dan di sekitarnya serta merupakan buah-buahan khas daerah Kabupaten Probolinggo.
9. Pita dasar dengan warna putih berisi Semboyan “PRASAJA NGESTI WIBAWA”. Makna semboyan : PRASAJA, berarti : bersahaja, terbuka, jujur, beres dan terus terang.
NGESTI, berarti : menginginkan, menciptakan dan mempunyai tujuan. WIBAWA, berarti : mukti, luhur dan mulia.
“PRASAJA NGESTI WIBAWA”, berarti : Dengan rasa tulus ikhlas bersahaja, beres menuju

Saya menyambut gembira terbitnya publikasi Profil Kabupaten
Probolinggo Tahun 2014 seraya mengucapkan syukur kepada Allah SWT atas
segala limpahan rahmatNya.
Dalam era informasi, data statistik merupakan sesuatu yang sangat penting
dalam mendukung perencanaan pembangunan daerah. Dengan data yang
pengumpulannya didasari oleh konsep dan definisi yang baik, maka berbagai pihak
dapat berkomunikasi dengan persepsi yang sama.
Buku ini diharapkan bukan saja berguna bagi perencanaan pembangunan,
namun juga dapat digunakan oleh semua pihak yang memerlukannya. Mengingat
kesinambungan penyajian data semacam ini dari tahun ke tahun perlu dijaga dan
terus dilakukan pemutakhirannya, saya menghimbau kepada semua pihak untuk
membantu penyusunan Kabupaten Probolinggo Dalam Angka ini pada tahun-tahun
berikutnya.
Akhirnya, saya mengharapkan adanya peningkatan dalam hal ragam data

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful.
Peace be to you and Allah's mercy and blessing as well.
I receive with open arms publishing of publication Profile of Probolinggo
Regency 2014 as great as saying thanks to Allah of SWT to the all His blessing what
overflows.
In information era, data of statistic represent something that of vital
importance in supporting planning of development of area. With data which its
gathering is constituted by good definition and concept, hence various parties can
communicate with same perception.
This book expected not only good for planning of development, but also can
be used by all its proper parties. Considering continuity of presentation of data like
this from year to year require to be taken care of and continue to be done much
better. I urge to all parties to assist compilation of Probolinggo Regency in Figures
next years.
Finally, I expect the make-up of in the case of data manner and quality of
publication of Profile of Probolinggo Regency next years.

Publikasi ini merupakan publikasi lanjutan dari buku semacam tahun
sebelumnya dan merupakan seri penerbitan yang menyajikan data dari berbagai
aspek ekonomi dan sosial di Kabupaten Probolinggo. Tabel yang disajikan
bersumber dari produk administrasi berbagai instansi, dilengkapi dengan pengolahan
data kegiatan rutin, sensus dan survei BPS Kabupaten Probolinggo.

This publication is the continuation of the previous year publication and
publication series which provides various kind of data concerning with social and
economic aspects in Probolinggo Regency. The sources of the data compiled are
basicaly from administrative product issued by various governmental, and also
supplemented by various governmental, and also supplemented by routine
BPS-Statistics of Probolinggo Regency activities, such as surveys and censuses.
We would like to express our sincere thank to everyone for their help and
participation for the improvement of the publication. We hope that our relationship
could be improved in the future.

PENJELASAN TEKNIS
2. Musim
Letak Kabupaten Probolinggo
yang
berada
di
sekitar
garis
khatulistiwa menyebabkan daerah
ini mempunyai perubahan musim
dua jenis setiap tahun, yaitu musim
kemarau dan musim penghujan.
Untuk musim kemarau berkisar pada
bulan
Juli
hingga
Oktober,
sedangkan musim penghujan dari
bulan November hingga Juni.
Curah hujan yang tinggi terjadi
pada
bulan
November
sampai
dengan April, sebagaimana yang
terlihat pada gambar 2.
Diantara dua musim tersebut
terdapat musim Pancaroba, dimana
biasanya terjadi tiupan angin kering
yang cukup kencang, biasa disebut
Angin Gending.
