NARASI SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstrak

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masalah belum melek huruf / belum bisa membaca (baru mengenal huruf, namun tidak bisa merangkaikan), adapula yang sudah bisa namun belum lancar atau masih terbata-bata dan kemampuan menulis narasi siswa rendah, ditandai dengan adanya siswa kurang bersungguh-sungguh dan kurang mempunyai kemauan yang keras dalam berkemampuan menulis narasi. Siswa belum terampil dalam menyusun kalimat-kalimat dan belum memperhatikan tanda baca dalam menulis karangan narasi. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa kurang aktif dan mengalami kesulitan mengembangkan gagasannya untuk menulis narasi sehingga guru perlu berupaya dalam mengembangkan pembelajaran yang inovatif dengan maksud agar tujuan pembelajaran dapat tercapai khususnya dalam pembelajaran menulis narasi. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui

pengaruh metode Mind mapping berbasis kata-kata mutiara terhadap keterampilan membaca

pemahaman dan menulis karangan narasi. Penggunaan metode Mind mapping dalam

pembelajaran sebagai alternatif untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh metode tersebut terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman dan menulis karangan narasi, karena metode

peta pikiran (mind mapping) melalui kata-kata mutiara tentu akan sangat membantu siswa

dalam memanfaatkan potensi kedua belah otaknya dalam mengembangkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman dan juga keterampilan menulis narasi siswa. Siswa akan lebih termotivasi dengan kata-kata mutiara yang diberikan, sehingga memicu kreativitas siswa

untuk berimajinasi lebih luas. Adapun hasil proses pembelajaran melalui metode Mind

mapping berbasis kata-kata mutiara terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman dan

keterampilan menulis narasi lebih baik dibandingkan dengan rancangan pembelajaran pada kelas konvensional. Hal ini ditandai dengan peningkatan nilai kelas eksperimen yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan pencapaian pada kelas kontrol. Hasil deskripsi dari statistik membaca pemahaman, nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen pascates yaitu 91, sedangkan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol pascates yaitu 81,25. Selanjutnya nilai rata-rata menulis narasi kelas eksperimen pascates yaitu 81, sedangkan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol pascates yaitu 71,5.

The effect of mind mapping method based on words of wisdom to the reading comprehension skill and writing the narrative text for primary students.

Abstract

The background of this research is the reading inability of students (or they have justknown the words but they can't arrange the words appropriately). Some of thestudents are also able to read but their reading skill is still low and the ability ofwriting the narrative text is also weak. It is marked by the unmotivated students andthey don't have big effort to write the narrative text. The students are not able toarrange the sentences and couldn't be able to pay attention to the punctuation of thenarrative text. This thing could happen because the students are not active and theyhave the difficulty to develop their ideas to write the narrative text so that theteachers should have an effort to develop the innovative learning skill to achievelearning objectives especially in writing the narrative text. The purpose of thisresearch is to know the effect of mind mapping based on words of wisdom to thereading comprehension skill and writing narrative text for primary students . The useof mind mapping method in learning becomes an alternative way to know how bigthis method could influence the ability of students reading comprehension andwriting narrative text. Because mind mapping method based on words of wisdomwill help the students to exploit the potential of their brains to develop the abilty ofreading comprehension and writing narrative text. Students will be motivated by thewords of wisdom which are given so it can be a trigger of students creativity to havewider imagination. And the result of learning process by using mind mappingmethod based on words of wisdom to the reading comprehension skill and writingthe narrative text is better than the conventional method. The enhancement of scorein experiment class is bigger than the enhancement of score in control class. Thedescription and statistic result of reading comprehension , the everage score ofexperiment class after doing the test is 91,while the everage score of control classafter doing the test is 81.25. And the average score of writing the narrative text inexperiment class after doing the test is 81 while the average score of writing thenarrative text in control class after doing the test is 71.5 .
