Introduction
and
Welcome
I hear ly welcome you for the pres gious occasion of our Faculty. The idea of pu ng the researchers, academics and prac oners of an educa onal ins tu on is so inspiring: what was once planted as a sapling is now all grown into a large tree. Here I can see a blend of extraordinary and educated people who have made this day arrive; they have come to us from each and every corner of the city.
This year, I find it to be my pleasure to address you people who are the minds of today and the responsible ci zens of tomorrow. I and whole of our dedicated Comi ee team appreciate the efforts put in by researchers, academics and prac oners to come and presented each of paper that will be published. So, here I feel privileged to extend my warm welcome to all who are constantly extending their support and love to fullfill I-COFFEES.
The commi e have received 146 paper proposals and we accepted 128 papers, but unfortunately only 63 papers will be presented during the conference, encompassing 12 themes rela ng with fundamental rights.
Taking further, I on the behalf of everyone present here, hear ly welcome all the presenter and par cipant, the guest of honour, and all the keynote speaker. I am especially thankful to Prof. Yushiro Kusano, Dr. Kyaw Nyi Nyi, Ph. D., MHRD, MSc., Prof. Dr. M. Idriss Fassasi, LL.M., Prof. Hikmahanto Juwana, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., and Prof. Muhammad Akib for accepted our request and readily agreed when he looked at today's event and its program. So, I hope for everyone to have an endeavours and life experiences from I-COFFEES.

It is an honour and privilege for me to welcome you to Interna onal Conference on Fundamental Rights, organized by the Law Faculty, University of Lampung.
I am very happy and grateful that many dis nguished researchers, academics and prac oners have come from both home and abroad to share their knowledge and experience and to explore be er ways for discussion. Here in Bandar Lampung, we are deeply engaged with our region and the rest of the world through I-COFFEES. We welcome people from all comers of the globe to
come to Bandar Lampung to discuss, study and also to enjoy our culture.
Interna onal Conferences is not held for the first me on this campus, but this is the first conference specifically devoted to ac ve discussion, paper publishment and discovery on legal issue and fundamental rights. Publishing ar cles or journals is not a major goal of interna onal conferences, but rather as an appropriate moment to improve the scien fic quality.
I hope you will have most produc ve day of interes ng and s mula ng discussions. I sincerely wish that this conference will be a great success not only as a chance to share knowledge and experience in higher educa on but also as the beginning of a long and frui ul coopera on and friendship among fellow researchers, academics and prac oners devoted to the most meaningful and worthwhile task, who will shape our future.

It is a great pleasure for me to inaugurate the first Interna onal Conference held by Faculty of Law since its establishment in 1965. The Faculty board realizes that it is not easy to hold the new issue in the midst of the many interna onal conferences in Indonesia. However, we took the risk, we believe that we will succeed on holding the event with the support by our lecturers graduated from all over the world. This year, we are proudly present I-COFFEES represen ng The First Interna onal Conference on Fundamental Rights in the land of coffee, Lampung.
We have succeeded to invite the par cipant from ten different universi es and ins tu ons in Indonesia who came here to exchange experience and work together on the exci ng field of Fundamental Rights and their applica ons. We felt that pu ng all the dis nguished researchers, academics and would provide an adequate alterna ve of discussion.
Before closing, I have to extend further thanks to all the comi ee who greatly helped in organising the conference. We would like to thank University of Lampung Rector Prof Dr. Ir. Hasriadi Mat Akin, M.P., special thanks also to Ir. Warsono, PhD, head of University of Lampung Research Center. And I wish to thank also for all the comi ee and all the par cipant for making this event come true.
Finally, as the planning for the second I-COFFEES has already in our mind, let us extend the invita on for more papers and a endees in the upcoming 2019. We look forward to see you there.
GENERAL INFORMATION
I-COFFEES is an interna onal conference organized by the Law Faculty of Lampung University with an intent and purpose of being an interna onal scien fic mee ng which it will be very useful for researchers, academics and prac oners.
The purpose of publishing ar cles or journals is not a major goal of interna onal conferences, but rather as an appropriate moment to improve the scien fic quality of researchers, professors, speakers, lecturers and students, where the paper presented by presenter will be cri cized, given inputs by experts in his field as well as his peers. Interna onal conference is also a place to build networking that is very useful for na onal and interna onal research networking system. While the interna onal conference also aims for students to be more ac ve in voicing opinions, cri cal thinking and mastering public speaking.
I-coffees focuses on research and development of fundamental rights relevant to the social context and the dynamics of society. We are pleased to invite applica ons from interna onal, na onal, and local researchers, academic scien sts, prac oners, and students as presenters and par cipants with themes.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS PROFILE
The conference will be a ended by 150 par cipants with targeted audiences from researchers, academics and students. Five keynote speakers will share their exper se, knowledge and experience; they are:
Yoshiro Kusano, Yoshiro Kusano, a former judge in Hiroshima High Court who is specializes in the field of Alterna ve Dispute Resolu on (Wakai). He is a professor who is recently elected as a chairman of the commi ee at the Law Faculty and Graduate School of Gakushuin Law School.
Dr. Kyaw Nyi Nyi, Ph.D., MHRD., M.Sc has published ar cles on Buddhist na onalism, ci zenship and Muslims in Myanmar. His main work is on How Buddhist Na onalism has Led to the Passage of Four Racial and Religious Laws in Myanmar, coupled with other projects on ci zenship, cons tu onal poli cs, and human rights in Myanmar.
Idris Fassassi is a cons tu onal lawyer. Star ng on September 1st 2018, he will be a Professor of Public Law at the University of Amiens, France. He was previously an Associate Professor of Public Law at University Paris II Panthéon-Assas. His areas of interest include cons tu onal law, interna onal human rights law and interna onal law. He has won several academic awards, including a Fulbright scholarship, and was a visi ng researcher at New York University School of Law. Idris previously worked at the United Na ons Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva and interned at the Conseil Cons tu onnel in Paris.
Specializa on in interna onal law, Prof. Hikmahanto Juwana, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D, Hikmahanto is the youngest professor in history of Faculty
of Law University of Indonesia (FHUI) or even in Indonesia. He succeeded in streamlining his me in Japan un l finally earning a master's
degree from Keio University with the tle of thesis An Interna onal Law Perspec ve of Space Commercializa on: Conflict of Interest
between the Developed and Developing State.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Each paper has been allocated a maximum of 15 minutes for presenta on. This applies as well to papers with mul ple authors/ speakers. A ques on and answer session will follow a er all speakers have presented. Due to the large number of papers, speakers are respec ully advised to keep strictly to the me allocated to them. This is necessary to ensure that the conference proceeds on me.
Each session venue is equipped with a computer and LCD projector. Presenters who wish to use Microso PowerPoint slides during the presenta on may do so by saving their slides on a USB drive or a compact disc (CD). A student assistant or a technician will be available 15 minutes before the start of each session to assist speakers upload their slides onto the presenta on computer. Presenters are expected to be at the session venue at least 10 minutes before their sessions begin.
The conference organizers have incorporated the conference papers into a full book which will be given to all registered par cipant a er the conference.
Beverages and snacks and lunches will be provided during coffee breaks at the main room hall, in a buffet with a lot of op on such as a main course and side dish with the taste of a tradi onal food and western food.
