ValuSource PRO 2000 Update History
ValuSource Pro 2000 application contains four major components: the application (VSP2000.EXE) and three spreadsheet components (ANA2000.VSX, DCF2000.VSX, CUSTCHART.VSX). Each update release has a section explaining the enhancement or bug fix, what section was affected, and the process that was altered.
Updates of VSPRO have the changes built into the program, and will automatically make all the spreadsheet changes to existing data files when you open them. New data files will be based on the new spreadsheet templates that come with the update, so they will have all the fixes applied as well.
If any know but unresolved issues still exist in an update release, those items are explained at the end of this document.

If a previous version was used to create a default print settings template file, schedule titles may not properly reflect the schedule names. If an older version of the template file is found, it is renamed to “DEF_OLD.PTS”. This verification process is also applied to the schedules table within an existing project that was created with a previous version of ValuSource Pro.

Summary lines in the balance sheet and adjusted sheet now pull totals directly from the detailed financial statements and do not use formulas on the spreadsheet to calculate totals. This solves the problem of putting in only summary number (Current Assets for example) and having the RMA ratios and Common Size statements show zeros in ratios/percentages that use these totals to calculate.

Incorrect cell reference in formula located at ‘GE38’. Reference to cell ‘FU31’ changed to refer to cell ‘FU33’.

If the short cut or mapped drive reference used to launch the application is assigned to the root level then a new project cannot be created. If this situation is detected then a message is displayed indicating the unusable path reference. Example of invalid path usage:

If a project file was unable to save the custom chart file component, the project file would not be able to be re-opened at a later time. A change was made to replace the missing custom chart template with the original master custom chart template then allow access to the project file.

Operating expense reference in cell ‘J9’ contained wrong reference to expense detail ranges. Cell value changed to ‘N98!GJ105’.
Inconsistent formatting of cells in BizComps Comparable Data (FB74 thru FB93) and Conclusions of Value
(CI85:CI86). Format changed from percentages (0.00%) to multiples (0.00).

Three internal references for reports were incorrectly referencing the wrong schedules. Effected reports were: Asset Method-Liquidation Value, Asset Method-Going Concern, and Company Transactions.

Incomplete version upgrade for VSPro 1.05 and 1.06 file
formats. X

After converting a data file from VSP106 to VSP2000 and saving it, VSP2000 message says “This is an old file do you want to convert….”, when trying to open it for the 2nd time.
This was caused only if the 1.06 data file had overwritten cells (blue).

Historic financial statement dates were not converting from VSP106 to VSP2000, so all the dates in the analysis
schedules were not correct.
Manual Fix: You can run File/Financial Statement Setup, and click OK; the analysis dates will be reset based on the dates in the financial statements.

There is an error coping Marketability Discounts and Discounts and Premiums numbers for all valuation methods, when converting data files from VSP106 to VSP2000.
Note: Must re-import to get the changes.

Guideline method schedules were not printing correctly, and excess assets and disc/premiums were not printable (i.e. no check box on the print form).

Asset approaches (going concern and liquidation) values do not pull the adjusted amounts from the historic statements.

Guideline Appraisal Method, Analyst Research Tab, Analyst Button. The median P/R calculates as a percentage, not a decimal, so the P/R value is multiplied by 100 and used in the conclusions of value schedule.
