The East Asian Actuarial Conference
The East Asian Actuarial Conference (EAAC) has been one of the biggest events for
the actuarial profession in Asia. From its inception in 1981, the EAAC aims to
exchange ideas and information on all topics of actuarial knowledge and to promote
the actuarial profession within the East Asian region. In recent years, the theme of the
EAAC has been further extended to address evolving issues such as risk management
and international financial reporting standards etc.
Prior EAAC conferences were held every two years in member countries by rotation. Many of EAAC’s participants and keynote speakers are prominent international insurance executives and actuarial experts, whose experiences and insights are
beneficial to the insurance development of member countries.
Starting from 2013, the EAAC is changed to be held once a year. The 18th EAAC will be sponsored by Actuarial Institute of Chinese Taipei and is scheduled for 12~15
October 2014 at the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC) in Taipei. The
main theme for the event is “Risk, Challenges and Opportunities”.
