This attitude was revealed when Kontan.co.id asked for confirmation on rumors of MIND ID's plan to buy 11%stake in Vale Indonesia again.
MIND ID's SVP Corporate Secretary Heri Yusuf explained, INCO has an obligation to divest 11% of its shares to domestic parties in the context of converting a Contract of Work (KK) which is assumed to expire in a few years and then turns into a Special Mining Business License (IUPK).

Sara said that her party is optimistic that UNTR's business performance will be more positive this year. The subsidiary of PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) projects heavy equipment sales to grow 22-23%, mining contractor production to increase 3%, coal sales to increase 6-8%, and gold sales to around 290-300 thousand oz.
"For the increase in coal sales, this projection is before the export ban policy issued January 1, 2022, so there are no new directions. So we'll just have to monitor the progress," she explained.
Sara added that her party will meet the needs of customers in all sectors related to heavy equipment and after-sales services, where mining contractor activities are on target directed by the client.
Until the end of September 2021, according to Sara, the company's financial performance continues to grow. UNTR's net income rose 24% to Rp 57.8 trillion compared to Rp 46.5 trillion in the same period 2020. In line with the increase in net income, net profit also increased by 46% to Rp 7.8 trillion compared to the previous year of Rp 5.3 trillion.
Meanwhile, sales of heavy equipment in the construction machinery segment increased 84% to 2,194 units from 1,191 units. Sales of spare parts and maintenance services also rose 18 percent to Rp 5.6 trillion. Overall, the construction machinery segment recorded revenue of Rp 15.8 trillion, an increase of 54% year on year (yoy).
Then, the mining contractor segment recorded a 9% higher net income to Rp 24.2 trillion, with 87.3 million tons of coal production and 630.0 million bcm of overburden removal. The coal mining segment recorded higher sales volume to 7.7 million tons, with net revenue increasing 36 percent to Rp 10.3 trillion.
Hingga akhir September 2021, menurut Sara, kinerja keuangan perseroan terus mengalami pertumbuhan.
Secara keseluruhan, segmen mesin konstruksi men- catat pendapatan sebesar Rp 15,8 triliun atau meningkat 54% year on year (yoy).

Thus, the company's consolidated net income was contributed by the mining contractor segment at 42 percent, followed by the construction machinery segment at 27 percent, coal mining at 18 percent, gold mining at 2 percent and the construction industry at 2 percent.
On the other hand, the company stated that its subsidiary PT Bina Pertiwi (BP) has sold all of its shares in PT Iltahabi Energia Tenagahidro (IETH) to PT Energia Prima Nusantara (EPN). The EPN is also a subsidiary of UNTR.
BP and EPN are subsidiaries of UNTR, which all issued shares are owned by PT United Tractors Tbk, either directly or indirectly.
"BP and EPN have signed a sale and purchase agreement of all BP's shares in IETH which is equivalent to 80% of the total paid-up and placed shares in IETH to EPN," Sara explained.
After carrying out the transaction on December 27, 2021, EPN's share owner- ship in IETH is 10,823 shares or a value of Rp. 10,823 billion. The purpose of the transaction is to reorganize the group of companies, especially for the business portfolio in the electricity sector. Editor : Indah Handayani
Editor : Indah Handayani

COAL issuer belonging to the Bakrie Group, PT Bumi Resources Tbk. (BUMI), assessing that the ban on coal exports has the potential to bring the businesses of issuers and subsidiaries into force majeure and demurrage conditions, thus asking the government to revoke the regulation."The ban on coal exports set by the government has the potential for force majeure to occur. However, each sub- sidiary's coal sales contract contains arrangements regarding this force majeure condition," explained Dileep Srivastava, BUMI's Corporate Secretary, quoted on Sunday (9/1/2022).
This export ban also has the potential for demurrage or the imposition of additional costs from shipping companies such as shipping, as well as penalties as a result of delays in coal shipments abroad.
Even though the company has fulfilled its domestic market obligations (DMO), by prioritizing the coal supply policy for domestic interests, including PLN, the company and its subsidiaries will continue to follow government policies.
"The company hopes that the government will immediately lift the export ban on companies that have fulfilled the DMO," he added.
Until now, BUMI has not yet calculated the effect of this policy on the company's financial performance. However,...

MITEN batu bara milik Grup Bakrie, PT Bumi Resources Tbk.

OAL prices soared 16.6% over the past week. Indonesia's new coal export ban policy is still one of the boosters for the black stone's price. However, this week there is a possibility that the export faucet will be re- opened, and the new coal price is at risk of correction. The price of coal on the Newcastle (Australia) ICE market closed at US$ 177/ton on Friday (7/1/2022). Daily News Update Page 11
The government decided to stop coal exports for a month. This step had to be taken because the supply of coal to power plants was running low. The spike in coal prices was due to concerns about world supply after the Indonesian government announced a policy that shook the world.
The problem is, Indonesia is the world's largest coal exporter. China, India, Japan, and various countries depend on the supply of coal from the country.
Japan, which imports about 2 million tons of Indonesian coal per month, sent a letter asking the Indonesian government to allow exports of high-calorie coal to the Land of the Rising Sun. The reason is that high- calorie coal is not used in Indonesia's power plants. Five coal transport ships that were originally headed to Japan are still stuck at the port.
Likewise, South Korea, through the Minister of Trade Yeo Han-koo, has strongly asked Indonesia to immediately lift the ban on coal exports.
Yeo made this request in an online meeting with the Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi. During the meeting, the two ministers agreed on the importance of cooperation in the global supply network and emphasized the need for bilateral efforts for a stable commodity supply chain.
Meanwhile, the Indian government whispered to Reuters that it had not yet made contact with Indonesia. Because India's coal supply is adequate, imports have been carried out long ago.
Export Faucet Will Reopen This Week?
Meanwhile, the Investment Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia revealed, there is a possibility that the coal export faucet could be opened this week.
Pemerintah memutuskan menyetop ekspor batu bara selama sebulan.
Keran Ekspor Bakal Dibuka Lagi Pekan Ini?
Daily News Update Page 12
According to him, the opening of the export faucet can be done if the stock of coal for domestic purposes, especially for the PT PLN (Persero) power plant can be fulfilled.
"Yes, if our stock and reserves have met the needs of PLN and domestically, we can export," he said when asked by reporters at his office, Friday (07/01/2022).
"If it is fulfilled in the following weeks, there is already certainty that 5-6 million can be exported," he continued.
If the export faucet is re-opened, anxiety will subside and coal prices will be reduced. CNBC INDONESIA RESEARCH TEAM (ras/ras)
TIM RISET CNBC INDONESIA (ras/ras)

In the letter, the companies were judged to have been negligent because they had not submitted the RKAB document for 2022 even though according to the regulation of the Minister of EMR Number 7 of 2020 Article 79 paragraph (1) letter b, holders of IUP Production Operations and IUPK Production Operations are required to submit the Annual RKAB within a period of time. no later than 90 (ninety) calendar days and no later than 45 (forty five) calendar days before the end of the calendar year for the annual RKAB in the following year.
In the letter, it is stated that if the RKAB is received after that time period, the RKAB will not be processed and the company will be given a temporary suspension. (RI)
(RI)

The government had extended the company's operating license, but only for two weeks, from January 1, 2022 to January 14, 2022.
Director of PT Bumi Resources Tbk Dileep Srivastava said his party was still trying to optimize performance in order to maintain production in 2022 reaching around 90 million tons.
"BUMI will work optimally in this direction and of course (considering) the environ- ment and the weather," said Dileep to Kontan.co.id, Sunday (9/1).
Kontan noted, this production target will come from two BUMI subsidiaries, namely PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) which will produce 61 million tons of coal, while Arutmin Indonesia (AI) is estimated to produce 29 million tons of coal.
Regarding the fate of KPC, Dileep previously said that he was still waiting for the government's final decision.
"All formalities (already) have been complied with and are awaiting a final decision from the authorities," said Dileep.
Meanwhile, Energy and Mining Law Observer at Tarumanegara University Ahmad Redi revealed, referring to the Constitutional Court's (MK) judicial review decision on Article 169A paragraph (1) of Law Number 3 of 2020 concerning Mineral and Coal Mining (Minerba Law) then the extension of cannot be given directly.
Thus, the extension pattern used refers to Article 75 of the Minerba Law where State- Owned Enterprises (SOE) and Regional- Owned Enterprises (ROE) receive priority to obtain a Special Mining Business Permit (IUPK).
Pemerintah sempat memperpanjang izin operasional perusahaan ini, namun hanya dua minggu yakni sejak 1 Januari 2022 hingga 14 Januari 2022
Direktur PT Bumi Resources Tbk Dileep Srivastava mengungkapkan, pihaknya tetap berupaya mengoptimalkan kinerja demi menjaga produksi tahun 2022 men- capai sekitar 90 juta ton.
Mengenai nasib KPC, Dileep sebelumnya mengungkapkan memastikan pihaknya masih menanti keputusan final peme- rintah.
Daily News Update Page 15
Meanwhile, it is only possible for the private sector to obtain an IUPK through the auction scheme for the Special Mining Business License Area (WIUPK).
"Well, I think that's the basis, because the Constitutional Court's decision is final and binding," said Redi to Kontan.co.id, Sunday (9/1).
Kontan noted that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) had previously granted a permit extension for KPC.
Referring to the data contained in Minerba One Data Indonesia (MODI) of the Ministry of EMR, Thursday (6/1), the permit granted is still in the form of a Coal Mining Concession Work Agreement (PKP2B) and has not changed to a Special Mining Business Permit (IUPK).
In addition, the permit granted is only for two weeks, from January 1, 2022 to January 14, 2022. KPC's contract actually ends on December 31, 2021.
The data presented in MODI also reveals that no land shrinkage has been carried out. KPC's land area is still 84,938 hectares.
Redi explained that if an extension was granted, the decision would potentially violate the Constitutional Court's decision.
"This can also be a legal issue that is not good when the government violates the Constitutional Court's decision regarding the extension of this PKP2B," explained Redi.
terang Redi.

OUTH Korea and Japan condemned the ban on coal exports imposed by the Indonesian government from January 1 to January 31, 2022. Both countries protested the policy of a temporary coal export ban amid high demand for this commodity.South Korean Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Yeo Han Koo even held a virtual emergency meeting with the Indonesian Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi.
Korsel dan Jepang Kecam Larangan Ekspor Batu Bara RI
K
Daily News Update Page 18
"Trade Minister Yeo expressed the concern of the (South Korean) government over the ban on Indonesia's coal exports and strongly requested the cooperation of the Indonesian government so that coal shipments would immediately resume,"
the ministry said in a press release as reported by Yonhap, Saturday (8/1).
Answering Yeo, Lutfi said that Indonesia is very aware of South Korea's concerns about the availability of coal. Therefore, he will endeavor to resolve the matter smoothly.
The two ministers agreed on the importance of cooperation in global coal supply networks. In addition, the two countries also emphasized the need for bilateral efforts to ensure a stable commodity supply chain.
Previously, the Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia Kanasugi Kenji also sent a letter to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif to lift the ban on coal exports.
Kenji said some Japanese power plants and manufactures rely on coal imported from Indonesia. The ban on coal exports is said to have a serious impact on economic activities and the daily lives of people in Japan.
"Industry in Japan regularly imports coal from Indonesia for power generation and manufacturing (about 2 million tons per month). Therefore, we request to immediately lift the ban on coal exports to Japan," Kenji wrote in his letter, Wednes- day (5/1) ago.
He added that the energy demand in the cherry country is currently high because Japan is facing winter. Kenji also offered another alternative, namely by continuing to open the export faucet of High Calorific Value (HCV) coal used in Japan.
Daily News Update Page 19
"Japan mostly imports High Calorific Value (HCV) coal from Indonesia, which is different from Low Calorific Value (VCL) coal used by PLN plants," he added.
Currently, Kenji admits that at least five coal carriers are still waiting for departure to Japan. He specifically requested that the five ships be given permission to depart as soon as possible.
For information, the Ministry of EMR prohibits domestic coal companies from exporting from January 1 to January 31, 2022.
This is done to meet the domestic demand for coal or domestic market obligation (DMO), especially for power plants owned by PT PLN (Persero).

OUNTAIN of gold apparently not only owned by the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Indonesia is also known to be included in the top 10 producers and owners of the world's largest nickel reserves, the result of several 'gold mountains' that exist. The majority of Indonesia's gold mining products come from the giant Grasberg copper and gold mine in Papua, where the mine is operated by a mining company from the United States (US), Freeport McMoran. This mine is also ranked first as the largest gold mine in the world.

Meanwhile, Newmont Mining is now owned by Indonesia after being acquired by the mining and energy company Medco.
Newmont Mining in Indonesia has changed its name to Amman Mineral and operates the Batu Hijau copper and gold mine in Sumbawa, an area of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province.
Furthermore, there is PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) which has a Precious Metals refinery with a production of around 5 tons of gold per year from its two mines in Indonesia, namely Pongkor, West Java and Cibaliung, Banten. In addition, there is also a gold mine based in Hong Kong G- Resources, which mines the Martabe gold and silver mine in North Sumatra.
In addition to these gold miners, Indonesia still has several other gold mountain miners. This proves that Indonesia is still not inferior in the mining sector to other countries.
Of the many 'mountains of gold', according to the USGS in 2020, Indonesia itself is recorded to produce up to 130 tons of gold.
This abundant gold production even contributes to 4% of total global output.
Not only that, Indonesia is also recorded as having the fifth largest gold reserve in the world with total reserves reaching 2,600 tons in 2020. This is equivalent to almost 5% of the world's gold reserves.
In the form of ore, referring to data from the Ministry of EMR, Indonesia's primary gold reserves as of 2019 reached 1.2 billion tons. For alluvial gold, the ore reserves are even greater, reaching 11.94 billion tons.
Unfortunately, when viewed from the side of international trade, the value of gold exports to total exports and its share of total global gold exports is still relatively small. At least the value of Indonesia's gold exports was recorded at US$ 2.06 billion.

Setidaknya nilai ekspor emas Indonesia tercatat mencapai US$ 2,06 miliar.

Indonesia holds talks with industry on coal distribution problems, export ban
Reuters
I
NDONESIA is yet to reach a decision on lifting its coal export ban as authorities discussed overcoming logistic issues that have slowed efforts to distribute coal to domestic power plants, a mining group executive said on Sunday. The world’s biggest thermal coal exporter suspended coal exports on Jan. 1 after Indonesia’s state power utility reported dangerously low inventory levels of the fuel, putting Southeast Asia’s biggest economy on the brink of widespread power outages.
The move had sent global prices of the fuel up last week with international buyers monitoring closely discussion between Indonesian authorities and the local coal industry. An energy ministry official had pledged to review the ban after Jan. 5
Indonesia’s Coordinating Ministry of Maritime and Investment Affairs met with miners and other related industry again on Sunday, but has not made any decision yet regarding resuming exports, said Hendra Sinadia, executive director of Indonesia Coal Miners Association.
“One of the issues discussed was the limited availability of vessels to transport the coal to power plants,” he said.
Senior minister Luhut Pandjaitan has said that the coal supply emergency at local power plants is over, but the government still needed to continue discuss policies in this area.
The discussion will be resumed on Monday, a spokesman for minister Luhut said on Sunday.
Last week Japan’s embassy in Jakarta asked Indonesia’s energy ministry to exclude high- calorific coal from the export ban as they are not used by local power plants and for permission for five vessels already loaded with coal to depart for Japan.
South Korean Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo on Friday held a video call with his Indonesian counterpart to convey “concerns about Indonesia’s coal export ban and strongly requested the Indonesian government’s cooperation for a prompt resumption of coal shipment”, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported.
Japan and South Korea are among the top destinations for Indonesian coal and together with China and India, they accounted for 73% of its exports in 2021, ship tracking data from Kpler showed. (Reporting by Fransiska Nangoy Editing by Raissa Kasolowsky).

Chinese coal traders shrug off Indonesian coal export ban
By Muyu Xu and Gavin Maguire
C
OAL traders in China, the world's top consumer and importer of the fuel, are shrugging off a ban on coal exports imposed by Indonesia, saying utilities already hold hefty stockpiles with power demand set to weaken for the Lunar New Year holidays.Coal stocks at key Chinese utilities in coastal regions were about 33 million tonnes as of Jan. 1, 57% more than at the same time in 2021, data from the China Coal Transportation and Distribution Association showed.
Meanwhile, daily coal consumption by China's power plants is currently flat versus last year at 2.2 million to 2.3 million tonnes - and expected to slump in the coming weeks when factories shut for the week-long Chinese New Year celebration and as Beijing orders reduced smokestack activity to ensure clear skies for the Winter Olympic Games.
"If we are not expecting any (extreme) cold (weather) waves, there would be no other factors to drive up coal demand in the near term," said one Jilin-based coal trader who declined to be identified.
Utilities in the region are fully relying on long-term contract supplies from domestic mines, and do not need to purchase from the spot market at the moment, he said.
The calm mood among China's traders at the end of the first week of January contrasts with the alarm that shook global markets after Indonesia, the world's largest thermal coal exporter, announced a shock ban on shipments on Jan. 1 to avert domestic power outages.
China's thermal coal prices jumped more than 6% on the first trading day after the ban was announced, but have retreated since as traders and importers determined it would have negligible impact on China's coal market due to a recent domestic output boom. That came in response to a power crunch in late 2021.
That surge in domestic output not only met demand from utilities through late 2021, but also replenished stockpiles for power generators so they are now less reliant on imports than in 2021, when imports jumped by around 10% from 2020.
In fact, traders said, the combinations of high stocks and weakening demand had been expected to drive coal prices lower - before the Indonesian ban came along to provide price support.
IMPASSE
Since the ban was announced, Indonesian miners have moved to rectify the country's stockpile shortfall by committing millions of tonnes to domestic power producers. National authorities also pledged to review the ban as early as January 5.
But as of Jan. 7 the export impasse remains in place, triggering worsening ship congestion off Indonesia's coal ports and mounting frustration among key importers like major buyer Japan, which made an official request to Jakarta to scrap the ban.
Daily News Update Page 23
In top buyer China, however, market participants are more concerned about potential fresh downward pressure on prices once Indonesian coal flows do resume with domestic output still high.
Analysts from Orient Futures forecast China's coal production capacity to reach about 4.58 billion tonnes in 2022, up from 4.33 billion in 2021, including the 230 million tonnes of resumed production capacity approved by Beijing last year to ease the electricity shortage.
"It is almost certain that we would see oversupply and a coal price plunge soon if the domestic output boom continues," said a Beijing-based coal trader. Reporting by Muyu Xu and Gavin Maguire; Editing by Kenneth Maxwell
Value of Chile's copper exports jumps 21.9% in December, 40.6% in 2021

C
HILE, the world's largest copper producer, saw the value of its exports of the metal soar 21.9% in December and 40.6% in 2021, the central bank said on Friday, bolstered by strong prices. The value of its copper shipments reached $4.91-billion last month and $53.42-billion in 2021 as a whole.
Copper prices hit record highs last year, supported by expectations for a strong global economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
However some experts believe that the metal will perform more weakly this year due to an increase in global supply.
Chile also reported a trade surplus of $520-million for December, the central bank said, up 21.7% year-on-year.
The Andean country posted a $10.9-billion surplus in 2021 overall, buoyed by copper exports. Chile had recorded a $18.37-billion deficit in 2020.
