Students’ Perception Towards Teacher’s Written Feedback In Expository and Argumentative Writing Classes
Martiana Bernese Indri Aneke Djami
Abstract
This present study aims to investigate English Department students’ perception towards teacher’s written feedback in Expository and Argumentative Writing classes. The study addresses the following question: What are the students’ perceptions towards teacher’s written feedback in Expository and Argumentative Writing classes? The participants consisted of 20 students in English Department of Satya Wacana Christian University who already took the Expository and Argumentative Writing class. The data came from semi-structured interviews. The findings of the study illustrate the positive perceptions towards teacher’s written feedback. The finding suggests that the student mostly prefer feedback on content rather than feedback on grammar. The finding of this study also remind the teacher to choose their word carefully on providing feedback and surely balance the feedback both the positive and negative.
