Marketing Analysis

In the course of study tour to Japan, Unpad students conducting study tour are required to conduct an analysis of things that exist in Japan. I am here to discuss about souvenirs and souvenirs that are sold in Japan where our Unpad students conduct a study tour conducted on July 24, 2017 to July 28, 2017. Study tour this implemented helps us in improving the ability to speak outside the Indonesian language. We can also improve public speaking as well so as to increase confidence. While in Japan, we can enjoy various places that can be said hard to find in Indonesia. The air in Japan when we visited there was quite hot, around 30 ° C, probably equivalent to Jakarta.

The first day when we arrived in Japan, we went straight to Rikkyo University to conduct Joint Seminar. The Joint Seminar was held directly at Rikkyo University and viewed directly during presentations by the professors who were there. There we made a presentation in English about the paper that we have done before and assessed directly by the professors there. After completing the presentation at Rikkyo University, we continued our journey to Asakusa Temple. In Asakusa Temple there are many souvenirs are sold there. We were asked to conduct an analysis after the return of the Japanese study tour. After returning from Asakusa Temple, we then proceed to Sky Tree where we can see the sights of Tokyo there with various facilities and souvenirs are sold there. We can take photos of the sights of Tokyo. After visiting the Sky Tree, we then headed to the hotel for a rest.

The second day, we went to the company visit to Shin - Koto Incineration Plant to find out how to handle waste in Japan. There we also learn how the process - the Japanese people in processing waste so that we rarely find trash around the city and rarely there is garbage strewn on the streets. There we also get knowledge from the results of the presentation of the Shin - Koto Incineration Plant. We can also see the process from the beginning and the animated illustrations made directly by the Japanese so we do not feel bored in digesting the knowledge they have given. After returning from Shin - Koto Incineration Plant, we continued our journey to Tsukuba and visited Tsukuba Science Square. Science Square Tsukuba is a place where we can see many unique rock types - unique and can take pictures there. Much can be found during our study tour trip in Japan. After we finished visiting Tsukuba, we returned to the hotel to rest.

The third day, the first place we visited was Tsukiji who was an outer market. There are a lot of sellers who sell seafood like fish, octopus, and various kinds. We can see first hand how to make sashimi that cut directly from fresh fish just cut. The size of the fish sold in Japan is also large - large. We can see first hand the way they serve fresh food. Tsukiji market is also a market that can be said to be clean, unlike the market in Indonesia that can be said muddy, a lot of garbage and tend to smell the unpleasant. After visiting Tsukiji market, we continue our trip to Daiba to visit Odaiba Waterfront & Toyota Mega Web. Odaiba Waterfront is one of the most spacious malls with unique interior decoration by selling various brands that are well known to the world such as Nike, Adidas, Swatch, Starbucks, various souvenirs and unique foods and more. In addition we can also see the car shorum and see various types of Toyota cars and race cars that have been used for racing. We can also shop at the mall available in the mall. After visiting Odaiba Waterfront & Toyota Mega Web, then we continue our journey to Harajuku Takeshita - dori where there are Japanese people selling various kinds such as souvenirs, toys, beauty medicines, places to eat and so forth at various prices. There is a place that can be said crowded by people who visit the place / just simply passing the place. After going to Harajuku Takeshita - dori, we went back to the hotel to rest.

owner at the Station even though the owner is dead. After we visited Shibuya Hachiko Statue & Shibuya Pedestrian Scramble, then we headed to airport for flight back to Indonesia.

Lots of different kinds of souvenirs are sold in Japan. Variety of souvenir products result from SMEs business actor in the area of Nakamises Dori can be said very much. Souvenirs - souvenirs offered by SMEs in Japan, among others:

In Japan, especially in the area of Nakamises Dori, MSMEs in Japan sell a lot of unique souvenirs of different countries of Japan and different from other countries. The goods they sell also have varying prices. It is these unique things that can distinguish souvenirs from every country. Japan is a country that I think is a unique country with a variety of things offered, one of which is a souvenir they sell. From the way Japanese people dress, grooming, walking ways that can be said quickly, and their way of life can also be said different from the Indonesian people. Here are the photos I have documented during my stay in Japan:

Cultural Analysis

During my study tour trip in Japan, I found many different things from the cultur side between Japan and Indonesia. Differences that differentiate between each country. As an example of how to walk, Japanese tend to have fast-running types, they consider time is money. Unlike in Indonesia where most people walk casually. Similarly, from the cultural side relating to religion and life values adopted in Japan. Different cultures that cause uniqueness around the world. Like the cultur in Japan, the Japanese used kimono as everyday clothes, but now kimonos are used for certain activities only. This kimono can be used by anyone, both by men and women. It's just different is the motif used must be different. For women, there is also called Geisha, where the woman is dressed with a thick powder and for a woman can become a Geisha can be quite difficult and experienced many levels that must be passed. Japan has a variety of different cultures, another thing that makes Japan a unique country is the kite festival, origami which is typical Japanese, martial arts like Judo and Kendo, tea ceremony, and so on.

Based on the story of Tour guide who has given much information to us Unpad students, people in Japan consider time is money. This is told because of his experience during his stay in Japan that people who work do not have problems if working more than the time specified even if necessary without a holiday. This is because people in Japan really appreciate the time available. Culture coming home is a shame in Japan, even according to the Tour guide who has accompanied us while in Japan, if the husband comes home after work, his wife will be angry at home too soon. Unlike in Indonesia, sometimes the people of Indonesia if you can go home faster will feel happy. I personally think that Japanese are independent, they will not talk to them if they lose their way, but will find out on the information boards themselves.

In addition, the Japanese are people who have very high discipline and deserves to be in appreciation. They are the ones on time, if making an appointment with the Japanese, then they will be in accordance with the time promised. This should be appropriate for us to follow from this orderly culture. Another thing that deserves appreciation is that the Japanese still highly respect the existence of a tradition. Therefore, their longstanding tradition will not be lost, despite the modernization. They respect their own local culture that has existed since the days of their ancestors. They highly uphold the native Japanese language, therefore many Japanese people are less fluent in English. In addition, the Japanese are people who like to read. Whether it's a comic, news, or social media they like to read and sharpen their brains. If in summary, then the existing culture in Japan, among others:

• Kimono outfit

There are so many different cultures and uniqueness that are in Japan, and much we can learn from the journey to Japan. However, the stress level of Japanese people can also be said to be high. Because of their nearly half-day habits used only for work and earn money, then they have a high level of stress as well. This can be seen from the many cases of suicide by the Japanese - and it is not unusual for the Japanese. According to our Tour guide, even if there are relatives who died committed suicide, then the family had to clean up their own suicide siblings. Therefore suicide is a common thing they do.

Cultural Analysis

After I conducted a company visit to Shin - Koto Incineration Plant I got new information on how to handle waste in Japan. There are many things we can follow from the Japanese way of handling the problems that occur in the country. One of our discussions is how the government should do a lot of waste management on the streets and how to overcome them. Japan is a country that can be said to be free from garbage

although there is still garbage in the streets, but it can be said also very much different from the trash that is very much in the streets of Indonesia. Therefore it is better if the government imitate how to overcome the waste in Indonesia.

The Japanese in carrying out waste management is done by several stages. But before that is done also sorting of garbage so that garbage become easy to overcome. Here are the stages that the Japanese do in handling waste at Shin - Koto Incineration Plant:

• Trash transported to a large place

• Trash is divided according to the same type

• Waste that has been divided then burned in temperature 1000⁰C • Reprocessing facility

Shin - Koto Incineration Plant provides animated illustrations that can help us to digest how they are handling in Japan. The illustrations they performed were performed by 4 children and 1 dolphin so we were more interested in capturing the information that had been given. In addition, in Shin - Koto Incineration Plant also provides presentations and videos to provide more information so that we are easier in

understanding the way they handle the waste. Shin - Koto Incineration Plant can be a role model for the government of Indonesia to be able to do waste management as they do.

The Government of Indonesia may create a facility similar to those located in Japan in handling waste in the country. This will assist Indonesia in reducing the amount of waste that is very much. By building this facility also, the government can reduce the amount of pollution that is in Indonesia because the number of vehicles in Indonesia to make the pollution in Indonesia more and more. Therefore, in order for us not to increase the amount of pollution, we can tackle the existing waste with existing facilities like in Japan.
