ORLICZ-SOBOLEV SPACES WITH ZERO BOUNDARY

VALUES ON METRIC SPACES

NOUREDDINE A¨ISSAOUI

Abstract. In this paper we study two approaches for the defi-nition of the first order Orlicz-Sobolev spaces with zero boundary values on arbitrary metric spaces. The first generalization, de-noted byM1,0

Φ (E), where E is a subset of the metric space X, is

defined by the mean of the notion of the trace and is a Banach space when the N-function satisfies the ∆2condition. We give also

some properties of these spaces. The second, following another def-inition of Orlicz-Sobolev spaces on metric spaces, leads us to three definitions that coincide for a large class of metric spaces and N-functions. These spaces are Banach spaces for any N-function.

We will see in the next section, that there are dense open subsets of normal spaces which do not induce epimorphisms and a first countable space containing a zero-set which does

In order to give an example of a protomodular locally finitely presentable category C with a zero object which does not have a semi-abelian generator, we will present it as

On the harmonic Bergman space of the ball, we give charac- terizations for an arbitrary positive Toeplitz operator to be a Schatten– Herz class operator in terms of averaging

Then we prove some regularity results, in the sense of Sobolev or H¨older spaces (see Theorems 5, 6), when the coefficients are more regular, as well as the generalization of all

But when the point x 0 = (ρ0, ϑ0, ϕ0) approaches the boundary S = ∂B(0, ρ), in computing the values of the Poisson integral at the point x 0 by the above-described method, we observe

EJQTDE, 2004 No.. We will deal with a first order func- tional boundary value problem on an infinite interval, seeking positive non-zero solutions. In Section 1 we state the

This may be integrated from the boundary, where Ŵ = ψ = 0, across the streamlines, to give the distribution of Ŵ... It seems plausible, therefore, that there are at least two
