ABSTRACT
This paper analyzes Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk using feminist theory of the second sex as Simone de Beauvoir described. The analysis is focused on the minor women characters that Srintil, the dancer, meets. Through the minor women characters’ ideologies, the existence of patriarchal system will be analyzed. There are two ideologies found. Firstly, the myths in Dukuh Paruk lead the women to sexual freedom. Secondly, the dependency of women to men makes them feel and believe themselves to be incomplete without men. These ideologies result in men’s domination on sexual, economic, and voice factors.
