Method

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender but still firm, about 15 minutes.

2. Drain the potatoes and cut them into 1/2 inch cubes when they are already cool.

3. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium high heat. Add onion and green pepper. Cook about 5 minutes stirring often, until soft. Transfer to a plate and set aside.

4. Pour remaining 2 tablespoons of oil into the skillet and turn heat to medium-high.

5. Add potato cubes, salt, paprika and black pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are browned about 10 minutes.

Last weekend the girl scouts and the boy scouts of my school had their first fun camping outside the school. They left for Cikoneng at 05. 00 a.m. After a long and thrilling drive they arrived at the village and found a good camping site.

“Let’s set up our tents there,” said the leader while pointing at a garden. Then, they started to work. In a short time the tents were ready and they put a small flag on the top of each tent. After that, some girl scouts made a fire while some others cooked their lunch. The boys were busy working. The lunch was ready at 03.00 and they immediately started to eat. After that, they took a little rest. At 04.30 p.m the leader blew his whistle and all the girl scouts and the boy scouts gathered around to start their fun camping programs.

A long time ago in Prambanan palace, lived a king named Baka with his beautiful daughter called Roro Jonggrang. Many rulers wanted to marry Roro, so they competed for her. When Bandung Bondowoso conquered Prambanan, he managed to kill King Baka in a battle.

Bandung let Roro live, but she was supposed to marry Bandung. However she refused to marry him voluntarily. Her refusal made Bandung humiliated and offended. Although Roro had tried to escape, her struggle was in vain.

Finally, Roro agreed to marry Bandung, but on one condition: Bandung had to build her a big wonderful palace with one thousand statues in it. Also, the task must be completed before the sun rose. Bandung agreed, he was so confident he could complete the task easily.

Bandung immediately called his invisible friends for help. They did what their master ordered. The work had started and it seemed the palace would be soon completed before dawn. Knowing it, Roro was worried. “What can I do?” Roro thought in panic. Suddenly, she had an idea. She awoke her maids and nannies, then asked them to do their daily routines as if morning had come. They also made shadow as if there was a sun in the sky.

Bandung was stunned. The sky looked red, the roosters started crowing, and the people pounded rice. Meanwhile, the job had not been finished yet. The evil spirits disappeared because they were scared of light. They hurriedly left Bandung worked to build his palace and temples alone.

When Bandung realized that Roro had used tricks, he was very angry. He then cursed her. He turned her into a stone, which completed the palace and temples. Even today, the statue of Roro Jonggrang remains in the temple.

Teachers

Rope Jumping is a children's game of physical perseverance. It requires a piece of rope about 7 feet long. Any kind of rope of light material can be used to play this game. A very simple piece of rope can be made from groups of rubber bands notched together one after another. How to play rope jumping.

Once upon a time, there were a king and his queen who lived in the Kingdom of Belinyu. They don’t have any child. Until one night, the queen had a dream of a turtle. It said that the queen would have a baby, and she had to give a Komala necklace to her baby. The queen woke up and she was holding a Komala necklace in her hand. She told her dream to the king, and he was very happy.

Shortly, the queen’s dream became reality. She delivered a beautiful baby girl The king named her Komala. She grew up as a pretty girl, however, she had a bad attitude because her parents always spoiled her too much.

One day, Komala heard her parents talking about the turtle in her mother’s dream. She thought that the turtle was an interesting animal, so she wanted it as her pet. She insisted to find it, and the king allowed her to look for the animal.

Accompanied with the king’s guard, Komala searched for the turtle. Finally, she found it in a beach. She shouted to it. “Penyu Busuk, wait for me”, several times, but the turtle kept swimming. Solo, Central Java (ANTARA News / 15 March 2005) - Mount Merapi in Central Java has shown a sign of

increased activity in the past few days, forcing the local authorities to raise its alert status to “Awas Merapi” (Beware of Merapi).

“The volcano’s alert status had been raised since Wednesday after the Yogyakarta-based volcanology Board recorded a number of tremors inside the volcano”, said Yulianto, head of the Merapi Observatory Post at Semiran village, Boyolali district, Central Java, on Thursday.

KEONG EMAS

Once upon a time, there was a king of the Antah Berantah kingdom wished Dewi Sekartaji become his wife. To do so, he kidnapped her. Fortunately, the God Narada saved Dewi Sekartaji by changing her into a golden snail: Keong Emas. The God told Keong Emas to drift along the river in order to find her husband, Panji Asmoro.

One day a poor old widow, Mbok rondo Dadapan, who always fished along the river, found the golden snail and took it home. There, she put the snail in a jar and took good care of it. All of a sudden, unexpected good things took place in Mbok Rondo’s life.

Coming back from her daily fishing, she would find delicious dishes on the table and the house cleaned. She wondered who had been so nice to take care of her house and to do the cooking. When he went on for several days, she could not resist the temptation to find out who the mysterious kind person was. So, one day, instead of fishing, she peeped though a hole in the wall of her house.

To her amazed she saw a beautiful princess coming out of the jar and starting to clean the house and preparing a meal.

The next day, the same thing happened. Without wasting any time Mbok Rondo rushed into the house and smashed the jar. “Homeless” Dewi Sekartaji could not turn back into a snail. She was then adopted by Mbok Rondo.

Meanwhile, Raden Panji Asmoro bangun searching for his wife, wandered from one village to another, finally reaching Dadapan where he found his beloved.

Filled with happiness and love, they went back to their kingdom, taking along good Mbok Rondo.
