Konsep probabilitas dan proses acak, konsep teori informasi dan pengkodean sumber, pemodelan sinyal dan sistem komunikasi digital, penerima optimum dan kinerja probabilitas kesalahan pada kanal AWGN, pengantar pengkodean kanal, desain sinyal untuk kanal pita terbatas, penerima optimum dan sub-optimum untuk kanal ISI, pengantar sistem komunikasi digital pada kanal fading.

Concepts of probability and random processes, concepts of information theory and source coding, models of signals and systems in digital communications, optimum receiver and error rate performance of digital communication systems in AWGN channels, fundamentals of channel coding, signal design for digital communications through band-limited channels, optimum and sub-optimum receivers for channels with ISI, fundamentals of digital communications through fading channels.

To study fault-tolerant and reliability concepts and dependable systems for computation, as well as related techniques.
