THE COMPETENCE IMPROVEMENT OF MAKING KEBAYA PATTERNS THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF DRILL AND PRACTICE
METHODS BY USING MACROMEDIA FLASH IN SMK NEGERI 1 DEPOK SLEMAN

This research aimed to: 1) find out the learning process of making kebaya patterns using drill and practice methods helped by the use of macromedia flash 2) to know the competence improvement of making kebaya pattern with the implementation of drill and practice methods helped by macromedia flash, 3) to find out students’ perception on the use of macromedia flash as the learning medium for making kebaya patterns in SMK N 1 Depok.
This research done was a classroom action research which used Kemmis’ and Mc.Taggart’s research designs. The subjects of the research were Grade XI students of SMK N 1 Depok majoring Butique Clothing. They consisted of 32 students. The data collection method used learning observation sheet, student learning activeness observation sheet, competence improvement tests and questionnaires. The validity and reliability of the research instruments were checked by the expert judgement and the reliability was checked using inter-rater. The data analysis technique used in this study was descriptive analysis technique.
The results the study were: 1) the learning process of making kebaya patterns through the implementation of drill and practice methods by using macromedia flash in Butique Clothing (Busana Butik) Grade XI of SMK N 1 Depok, in cycle I, was that 14% was on good category, 40% was on decent category, and 46% was on deficient category. In cycle II, the learning process resulted that 54.5% was on good category, 41% was on decent category, and 4.5% was on deficient category. The learning process of making kebaya patterns through the implementation of drill and practice methods by using macromedia flash run well as it was proven by the increasing percentage on the good category, 2) there was competence improvement in making kebaya patterns through the implementation of drill and practice methods by using macromedia flash which was proven by the facts that students’ learning competence improved 13.46 on the pre cycle to the cycle I, and 9.20 on the cycle I to the cycle II and 100% of the students passed the KKM standard, 3) based on students’ opinion about the use of macromedia flash as the learning medium of making kebaya patterns showed that 28 students (87.5%) were included into the very satisfied category and 4 students (12.5%) were included into satisfied category. So, it could be concluded that the implementation of drill and practice methods by using macromedia flash could improve the competence of making kebaya patterns in the making pattern subject.
